Here's something that most people either miss or simply don't consider when a black person is confronted by a white or black cop!

90% of all people know that racism exist on some level in all of us, black and white. The difference is how you let that racism show in your actions? As a white person myself, i believe whites in general can be more outspoken about their racism towards blacks, because whites can at times find bias excuses to justify their racism! Example: whites at times say, blacks are more violent, they steal, they sell drugs, they murder each other etc!

Blacks on the other hand, typically aren't as critical of whites because most of blacks issues with whites stem from those in positions of power and control, ie "the government, police etc" !

Think about it? You hardly ever hear blacks complain about regular white citizens, but you do always hear blacks complain about cops, and how they abuse their authority! It seams to me that blacks may have a valid point when it comes to police corruption, because police corruption is becoming more and more exposed everyday! MINORITIES BARE THE BRUNT OF POLICE CORRUPTION!

There is a big difference between being a racist and racial profiling!

When your black, and you've done NOTHING wrong to warrant the initial stop by police. Racial profiling will feel a lot like racism! Then couple that with forced arrest, trumpet up charges and police brutality, and it feels even more t like racism!

So to answer the question of, is there a perceived difference as to when a white or black cop stops a black person for no reason?

The answer is NO, because it still feels racial, as in racial profiling! Proving a white cop is an absolute racist is a whole different story!

TyT you'd find you'd gain more progress if you didn't imply by your video titles that it is a problem with only white cops.  It would be like a newspaper saying 'Another black man rapes white woman'.  Yeah technically true because it has happened before but no one would be fooled about what that title is really trying to say and no one beyond some internet trolls and the 5 or 6 guys from stormfront would defend such a title being used in a story.

I'm gay and like straight people better. But I don't blame it on media - it's from decades of experience.

John,  Actually, you have said it's a problem with white cops.  I applaud Mr. Blow who didn't make it about race.  White people have guns drawn on them and have been shot too.  I think all lives matter.  You can make an argument that black people have guns drawn on them and shot more often; but that doesn't mean it's right to do it to any other race.  Compare the episodes TYT did in 2011/12 with what you've done in the last year.  Previously the message was police are overstepping their authority and need better training.  Now, although TYT briefly touches on the training issue, the main focus is on how white cops are killing black kids.  TYT ignores all the killing of white people.  Please eliminate the race baiting and focus on the problem.
  If you really want to focus on the roots of the problem look at why people have that negative opinion.  Why do cops have a negative opinion of black people?  It's a very complex and intertwined issue which won't be solved only with more training for cops.

The one article I read said that the suspect that they were looking for was tall, had a certain color ball cap, a certain color shirt, but it never said what the kid was actually wearing or how tall he is.  I would like to know that.  It makes a big difference, and I can't really have an opinion on this unless I get that information.

Conservatives are increasinly becoming authoritarians - and these people are DEEPLY racist. EVERYTHING else they CLAIM to stand for is done better with progressives in power - but they despise the left. Its their snobbery that drives them. In fact the disgust response is so accute that if you are shown a set of disgusting images psychologists can very accurately predict your politics from your response to these alone. The problem is that the stereotypes have been moved from the back of our brains (Cenk's analogy) to the front of our brains.  We only think in extremes minus ourselves and others we align ourselves with.  For example, Mitt Romney's 47% comment...conservatives BELIEVE that his 47% is legit, but what he is actually saying is that 47% of the 99% are takers and moochers.  The 1% is disqualified from that statement, even though the reality is that very rich people and corporations pay 0% in taxes and even get huge "refunds" in the form of subsidies, free money from taxpayers.  But Mitt Romney, in conservatives' terms, is not talking about his rich donors who "pay less taxes than their secretaries"...
In the police brutality situations, it is the same thought process, but in reverse: You can't blame white cops, who make up 99% of the incidences, because 1% of  the cops that do this are black.  I call it a competition mentality!  "I BELIVE my side always wins, even if I am in the minority, so therefore you are wrong."

Fuck no. The skin color of a police officer doesn't figure more favorably when power is abused. And actually, law enforcement institutions have courted individuals of the very same demographic that they have often been oppressed, subjugated and/or terrorized in an effort to stave and ward off criticism of their detrimental and anti-social/anti-societal conduct.

If it were reversed where black cops were killing unarmed white kids in wealthy neighborhoods there would have been action taken immediately and most if not all the black cops would've been charged and not let go without charges as to the white cops killing unarmed black kids.

I am a liberal and I hate goal post movers whether they are liberal or not.  They clearly changed their complaint when it was a black cop.  They moved the goal post and acted as if that has always been their position.

It wasn't a black cop. It was a blue one. It's about tribalism, which exists in many forms. The cop "tribe" is more close-knit because it is the result of training and conditioning. What makes it so egregious is that it's done on purpose. It's why cops see every non-cop not as citizens to be protected, but as potential criminals to be dealt with. And yes, law enforcement  as an institution, which includes judges and prosecutors, is racist, broken and corrupt.

 ***** The FBI says that about 400 people were "justifiably" killed by the police. I don't have the number for those that weren't not killed justifiably. But 400 is a huge number.  Especially since only 27 cops were killed last year in the line of duty. No other country has this number. There are too many cops to say all are evil. While I agree with a lot of what is said here The Young Turks  I think the panel needs to be more specific with certain terminology. When they end the video saying "George Zimmerman an honorary white southerner" it is being unfair to people from the American south. Sure the instances of racism are much higher in the south than in other places in the US, (for instance, organizations like the KKK have much wider support in the South than the rest of the country) but not all southerners are racist and it is unfair to paint in broad strokes like that. The same goes for TYT analysts saying "conservatives" think a certain way or act a certain way. There are many different types of conservatives- religious, social, fiscal etc. It is unfair to say all conservatives think one way, even if the majority of them do. It is in some ways similar to the rhetoric employed by many "Islamaphobics" who say "Muslims are terrorists". It is unfair to generalize so broadly. This type of Rhetoric is used by both sides, Republican and Democratic, and by many organizations not just TYT. Speaking in generalizations is divisive and often inhibits your point being heard by the other side. Just my two cents.
