WIFR News Opens, 7/1/2024 (New Logo/Branding/Voiceover)

Opens for the evening newscasts from the Gray-owned CBS affiliate in Rockford, Illinois. Recorded on Monday, July 1, 2024.

Beginning at 4pm Monday, WIFR unveiled a new logo that appears to be based on that of its sister station (and fellow CBS affiliate), WKYT in Lexington, Kentucky. The new logo drops mention of the channel number as well as the CBS eyemark which is becoming a trend with many Gray stations to emphasize local brandings over those of the networks. Also accompanying the new logo was a new brand, "WIFR News", replacing the previous "23 News". WIFR also replaced Sean King as voiceover with Corey Candray.

What hasn't changed are the graphics, which is still an older Gray Graphics Hub package, and Stephen Arnold's "CBS Local" continues as music.

Anchors include Jake Pearson and Annamarie Schutt.
