Dead Space Remake - All Dr. Mercer Cutscenes & Death (4K)

Had to watch this cause the first major glitch I encountered was that none of the models loaded in for the scene where he kills Jacob. Even the Hunter didn’t load in so I didn’t have to fight it.

Curious if since the marker is dragged down to the cargo hold, with Mercer pinned to it, if you can find his corpse or something down there.

i came for the cutscene because there was a glitch were the characters didnt load in same as their lies,so it look like he was talking to himself

I preferred his death in the original game. Plus you got to kill him yourself too in a way

I am surprised they did not make him a white guy in this remake

While his death may not be poetic like in the original, seeing that bastard get some long due comeuppance (namely panic and disbelief) is just as satisfying, if not more 👍

As much as I really like the new Mercer in this remake. I kinda wish they kept the part where he willingly allows himself to become a necromorph & you wrecking him after all the mischief he caused for Issac. I always thought that part was satisfying to play out. The new scene is fine but I preferred the OG death of Mercer still..

No joke. I've had to watch this video because the scene in chapter 10, I legit can only see Issac. Everything is like Issac is talking to himself so I had no idea what Mercer did or said in the scene. Just Issac talking to thin air and blood appearing. I was so confused. Thank you for this video.

I don’t think Mercer is actually dead. You don’t hear any flat line and the death itself just seems “bloodless” for a villain such as him. As it’s not really relieving for the player to experience.

Could Mercer be appearing a potential Dead space 2 remake? That would be interesting. To have a villain from 1, follow Issac to the next game.

Had to look this up because of Mercer being invisible in my game. Specifically for the cutscene at 12 mins, both Mercer and the other employee were invisible for me. I reloaded a save and Mercer became visible, but still couldn't see the other guy. Very odd bug.

I am reminded of why the 1st two dead space games were incredible. The foreboding silence broken by the occasional encounter of a screeching necromorph ambushing you. Part three was a complete opposite. It was like a necromorph Zombie hack n' slash pretending to be a resident evil 5 clone.

They really did turn Dr. Mercer into a Lovecraftian villain in the Remake. What a cool approach to updating his character. Lol

I think he's a near improvement aside from his death scene. In the original he accepts his death and you could prevent him from turning if you kill the infector in time denying him of what he wanted.
Aside from that he's a complete upgrade since you see how insane he is. A small thing I like that they added was him using Stasis because it felt like only Issac had access to it.

This guy is magnetic in every scene he appears in. The captivating blend of madness and intellect: fantastic.

I feel like Dr. Mercer is not dead. Would be kinda cool if they brought him back in a DS2 Remake and made him another antagonist.

What an absolute joke.... Trying to make him out to be some mastermind with a master plan, evil monologues and manipulation, no bearing of insanity at all.... What a waste, the original Mercer was a devout believer who's faith never faded even when he was turned to a necromancer, he wasn't some grand schemer, he was a crazy believer who did what he saw to be the best course of action whilst also experimenting on necromorphs in order to satisfy the scientist part of him, the perfect bit of evidence that the Remake does a far inferior version of Mercer is his personal log with the unnamed individual he turns into the Hunter.... You get all of who he is in a 1 minute audio log, he's calm, respectful, almost considerate but also has a tone of fanaticism and belief, and the key thing to tie it all together is the subject shouting and fighting in the background begging for his life all the while Mercer is calmy talking away as if he's quiet as a church mouse.... But in this he's some mastermind who for some reason doesn't just kill Isaac? Sure.... Not to mention his very iffy motivation to steal the Marker, in the original Mercer was just fully delusional by the time we meet him, talking about bringing the Ishimura to earth and spreading the markers influence whereas in this he talks about starting convergence.....oh and on that point, how the living hell does he know what convergence is? It's not something even Unitologists know about, it's not something that's ever been seen, it's something that was glimpsed at maybe 0.1% in the book, but otherwise they have no idea about the Brethren Moons or what even happens during Convergence, but in this he's talking as if it's some grand plan, even during his conversation with Kyne you can see how he's just a fanatical believer in Unitology, but in this he's just a big bad guy because the new writers felt the hame needed that.... I'm so glad Dead Space 2 isn't getting a remake, they should either make 4 or just leave the franchise alone forever
