It's crucial as believers to check our walk daily. To walk according to his will, being holy and righteous. If we get too comfortable in our relationship with the Lord and then we no longer check ourselves easily find ourselves stumbling and with a worldly perspective. When the storm comes through the affliction of this world we can end up putting our faith in mankind and technology and not the Lord which leads to crucial decision-making and ultimately whether we receive heaven or not. We are to work out our salvation putting Christ above All things our desires and fears.

Some of those gulf oysters are farmed out in the gulf in some kind of contraptions that keeps them up off the bottom. Each farm has its own name, which may be printed on the menus in the handful of restaurants where they are sold. The oysters are smaller, and they cost quite a bit more because they say they taste better.

I'm in Westwego and heard them talking about all that on WWL one morning. The only restaurant i can remember mentioned is Drago's.

I love this study in Ephesians! I appreciate all of the great insight that you men have brought in understanding what Paul was up against. I've been doing a lot digging into the city of Ephesus to gain a little more historical perspective on how these false teachers and the religious cults were trying to infiltrate the church at that point in time (and even today). Gnosticism was rampant and interestingly enough, a great majority of the influence behind this movement was coming from the women in the church as I understand it. Acts 19 describes the impact where Paul's ministry was creating lots of tension. I really enjoyed several weeks back when you had Larry Bowles on describing the vast range of philosophies and religious theology that was really what defined the dynamics of the Areopagus over in Acts 17. All of that say, I firmly believe that when Paul was writing to young Timothy, encouraging him to put an end to these individuals that were promoting myths and strange teachings (distorting the truth), he was very intentional when he stated the women "learn quietly with all submissiveness". If you read the scripture on the basis of content, proper context and cross referencing, it is very evident that Paul was speaking specifically to the circumstances that the church at Ephesus was dealing wth. So many Christians completely misinterpret much of what 1Timothy 2:8-15 is teaching. I know this is probably getting into the deep end of the pool, but I do think that it's important to clearly understand the context of scripture before we make broad stroke assumptions. I think it would be excellent to hear what you men think about what influence the culture and gnosticism was having on women in particular in Ephesus and many of the other churches Paul was ministering to. Thank you for what you are doing to bring truth to those that are searching. Keep it up! Blessings.
