>Pick Bloody Mess perk in F3
>Shoot someone in the face with a single shot weapon
>Their legs fly off
Wat.
Every time I play the original Fallout I take the bloody mess trait.
ОтветитьI made the mistake of eating while watching this.
ОтветитьI think going back to the turn based style would open it back up to awesome death animations. It's unlikely considering how Bethesda works.
ОтветитьI definitely feel the modern Fallout Games skimped on the death animations. The slowdown, the low groan, the ragdoll physics....It takes away from the grit, charm, and creativity of the classic games.
When you kill someone in the classic games, you can FEEL the visceral pain of their gurgling, crying deaths. There was way more variety as well. They don't slow down or ragdoll when they die, they flail, scream, and collapse in a pool of blood. That stuff feels way more intense to me..Than them just popping like a blood ballon and flying backwards.
I shot an enclave soldier with a 10mm pistol on th brink of being broken, and it exploded into a thousand pieces.
ОтветитьBloody mess is such a funny perk to have becease your character is supposed to be a simple man that has a simple life but the bombs fell so you had to hide
Now you step out of the vault and now your totally fine with seeing your enemy's explode all there guts over you without having any psychological trauma like yeah I just made that guy burst out there limbs so what
Though Fallout 1 & 2 are not #1 on my favorite Fallout games list, the visual style is my favorite of them all, it makes it even MORE unique of a game, and for some reason I can't explain killing those sprites is more satisfying than killing 3D models. That doesn't mean killing 3D characters isn't awesome though. Lol.
Ответитьthe gore is very over the top obviously but i think what makes it so disturbing when compared to some other games is the bleak, nihlistic tone and black humor of the games writing and setting. the wasteland feels like a very real believable place and the horrific ways in which people can be killed helps to drive home how fragile life is and how uncaring the world can be. in a GDC talk one of the devs mentioned the road warrior as a major influence and i think its portrayal of stark brutal violence being used to thematic effect had a huge impact on the fallout games
ОтветитьMan, the deaths in Fallout can be so ridiculous.
If you also want over-the-top satirical violence, check out POSTAL.
I started playing fallout 2 and I was exploring and encountered an enclave patrol and they blasted me in half
ОтветитьViolence is less about gore and more about the reaction of the victim. Blowing someone's head into chunks of meat is less violent that stabbing someone and have them writhe in pain and scream for their life.
ОтветитьSorry for your loss
ОтветитьBinging all these videos bros got some Q U A L I T Y content
ОтветитьI don't like Bloody Mess. Blowing up a guy with a .32 pistol is totally emerson breaking.
ОтветитьI showed my friend Horrigans death seen he later got the game and attempted to beat it as a pacifist he failed very quickly
ОтветитьReally wish they could keep the original brutality. Hell I’d be fine going back to the old platform… maybe X-COM like platform.
ОтветитьEven though i enjoy the 3d fallout games, none of them have this level of gross details in their animations, bloddy mess just kinda makes the character disassemble their plastic parts, there's nothing as detailed and satisfying as seing Lou agonizing and melting after you dying for him so many times.
ОтветитьPC or Console
ОтветитьIt's just the different weapons. It's MADDENING how few games take weapons into account with kills.
ОтветитьNever got to play the original games, but damn Lou's animation went on forever.
ОтветитьBorderlands electricity damage overtime death animation is brutal tho. Head turns into a skull with 1 eye that pops out as the head explodes into bits
ОтветитьThis actually makes the 2D view look better than 3D.
ОтветитьWell your limbs definitely would explode depending on what kind or how big of a round hit it but as for like the entire body with the bloody mess perk it wouldn’t unless hit with an exploding round its not really over the top to much! like a shotgun straight to the head would definitely explode your head to a degree
ОтветитьI gotta play the og fallouts
ОтветитьBloody mess was a lot more fun in the first two games. It was ok in fallout 3 on but not quite as hilarious
ОтветитьI know lots of people like the sprites more and I get it, but the 3D bloody mess is great in its way too. I never get tired of shooting a dude in his face, only for his arms and legs to explode as he flies across the room.
ОтветитьIt's not more violent than Borderlands, but it's definitely a more graphic brand of depicted violence.
ОтветитьBorderlands 1 was waaaay more gory in a hilarious way. I miss that
ОтветитьBruh...I ADORE both franchises, but to say Fallout is more violent than Borderlands?! That's just beyond crazy. I'd be willing to say it's the other way around honestly. It's just the art style. That goofy ass cel shading they use makes it more comical I guess, but Borderlands is AT LEAST as violent as Fallout.
ОтветитьOh man, Frank Horrigan was my favorite by far.
ОтветитьI always figured Lou's death was his cybernetics malfunctioning, causing his weaker parts to melt without their support while his stronger bits were ripped apart by small explosions and bits of metal.
ОтветитьAm I the only one that dont like bloody mess in fallout 3 and 4? I mean without it body parts go flying but with it all you see is just a explosion of a guy and chunks of stuff most the time. Kinda breaks the immersion tbh lol not that I'm a psychopath or anything
ОтветитьAll I want for a new Fallout is for Plasma to melt people again
ОтветитьRip to your friend......but I gotta ask....was your friend who played borderland yoteslayer?
ОтветитьDidn't quite see it here but in the OG fallout games the SMG was my favourite bloody mess animation :)
ОтветитьJust like in movies, gore well done is much more than just a cheap gimmick, its a narrating element.
The old fallout games were extremely difficult and unforgiving, the entire ambiance, the music, the dust, the long anxious walks on the world map, everything was there to remind the player of his/her fragility and mortality against a world where are rules went out the window.
A lot of modern indie games are gore but fail to understand the purpose of gore.
I always thought the Lieutenant’s death animation was him getting shredded by a sustained minigun burst.
ОтветитьFallout isn't as brutal as something like Mortal Kombat but that doesn't take away from the game's own brutality.
ОтветитьNice look back at brutality in the series 👌
ОтветитьI enjoy the new games and all, and have played them plenty; but nothing will ever compare to those late nights in the dark, playing Fallout 1 and 2 on the computer in the family room.
Ответить"Ludicrous Gibs!"
ОтветитьMy favorite was always the minigun "disintegration" animation.
ОтветитьThe rag doll physics makes it look cartoonish and that's why I think it's hilarious. It works with the spoof on the 1950s popculture and the post apocalyptic survival genre.
Ответить3D fallouts really dropped the ball in bloody mess. Single shot to the head and arms and legs fall off? That is just stupid. OG kill animations made weird sense. Laser weapons would cut in half, plasma melts, pulse weapons zapp the enemy and desintegrates them. But to this day my favourite was small arms fire bloody mess kills. Like when burst form smg rips head and arms off or how single shots would blow a half a torso size hole in them and blow half of their arm off while at it. With very satisfying sound to that. It looked like a very strong explosive round more then dumb corpse falling apart for no reason.
ОтветитьIt’s the Evil Dead effect. When the violence becomes so surreal you can more easily mentally detach yourself from the morality of it and it becomes comedic. In a way it is a satire of the violence in old cartoons from the 40s and 50s where they kept the same violence but carried it through to the finish line (smashing a head with a hammer made the eyes explode out instead of bulge out etc etc)
ОтветитьOverseer's death is really fucked up.
ОтветитьThe brutality of Fallout 1/2 was the suffering you inflicted on people. Youd hear them cry out, scream, and gurgle as theyre being violently killed. Even when theyre set on fire, they dont just slump over. Theyre guaranteed to be flailing around soundlessly as theyre burning for several seconds before they finally succumb and fall to the ground, their carbonized bodies breaking apart from the impact.
ОтветитьThose kills were always so damn satisfying.
