So my question about Vile is what happened to his voice. It used to be way deeper and much more resonant, did smoking do that or was it vocal fatigue from all the touring?

I love this guy! Been a fan for decades. How unique and adaptive he has been!

He is coming to the Filmore in Silver Spring Maryland. I’d love to go but I recently become handicap. I can’t walk due to needing both hips replaced and major vein surgery in my legs. I’m 46 and love him! It’s gonna kill me to miss him.

I never liked Him growing up and it wasn't because his music sucked. It was because of his popularity. I was never a people person. To put it bluntly, people suck and they are impulsive. I hated, still do, popular culture. I wanted nothing to do with them. Now that they are more of an obscure band I find listening to them pretty great.

I have never seen him so present, and happy. He is such an educated and well-read guy, i like listening to him. Also his english is perfect. It still amazes me how well Finnish people speak English. I really like this interview, well done! Very good questions.

He is so deep, his speech is full of symbols, codes, metaphors etc. While talking he gives so many details of music, he also makes musical analysis in terms of comparisons, etc. He's like an encyclopedia in music. Enchanting!

I was looking for a Canadian date on this tour, and I'm glad to hear it from Ville that he is actually considering an extension for this tour to more countries and cities! Looking forward!

He was and still is for me amazing! His voice and music were my cathartic get away. Now my daughter is listening to my hold C.D. Even if she uses also online music app’s but she is proud her mama had such a good taste. I always tell her that I used to sing H.I.M music to her in my belly. ❤

As a Registered Nurse during the pandemic, I discovered HIM and Ville Valo and they became my “go to” during this extremely trying time. I would just do deep dive after deep dive on you tube to get to all the music and concerts. Here I am in 2023 still really so glad I found them. I love his new album - fan for life.

A fantastic interview! One of the best...Ville isn't always comfortable with interviews and the questions were far from boring. Lovely to see him looking healthy and well. I wish he could win the Ivor Novello award for songwriting as Martin L. Gore has from Depeche. Ville sure deserves that award, but I've no idea how it is decided. He will be around for a long time.

What a breath of fresh air this interview is! The best Ville Valo interview I have seen ever since the news of his new album. No trivial questions and I love how Ville himself was taken by surprise by some of the very complex / deep questions. This was one of those days I believe when he realised talking to people is not always a chore :) Your approach was definitely on the quality over quantity side, well done for such well prepared questions, which, to be honest, only a true fan at heart, that "lived" the entire HIM era can consider asking. I'm an old school HIM fan too and at times it felt like the questions you asked came pouring out of my own brain :) Thanks so much!
