Absolutely true. Of course, this same unassailable logic also disqualifies anyone from ever being the Jewish Davidic Messiah, too. Why? Because there has been no surviving Davidic patrilineal bloodline since before the birth of Yeshua ("Jesus").

Aside from the fact that both genealogies are irrelevant and it nullifies him as the Messiah, the host says because he's from King David's lineage, even if he was, many people are, that doesn't make them the Messiah either.

The virgin birth narratives of the gospels of Matthew and Luke betray that they are of Greco-Roman origin and are mythological and not factual. Virgin births were all the rage in Greek mythology and there are multiple examples of this in Perseus, Dionysus, Jason, Erechtheus, etc. Virgin births are a common theme in many mythologies, religions, and legends. They often involve supernatural elements, astronomical signs, or intervention by a deity. But one thing for sure, Tanakh does not employ this or predict it as relating to the Jewish Messiah. It is purely a Greco-Roman literary device.

Rabbi, could it be that Jesus was born genetically of Joseph and Mary but his spirit was gifted by G-d? Much like every single human being? Who was the father and mother of Adam and Eve? It was Almighty God, Jehovah. He blew into them the spirit of life. The same could be said of David. The same could be said of Abraham, of Moses, of Daniel, and, of course, Jesus Christ. The physical lineage is important, but not as important as their spiritual lineage.

In Isaiah 54:16 the name Smith from the biological father is the last name of the messiah.

Jesus was born to an ordinary, middle class family, not a virgin of course. Bible 50/50 fairytales and truth.

In the book of Luke is the male lineage of Jesus. Miriam (Mary’s) father’s name was also Joseph. So we have two lineages. One from the mother and the father.

God promised to establish an everlasting kingdom on the throne of David. Immanuel, Lord of righteousness, one like the son of man. I think sabotaging Daniel’s and Isaiah’s prophesies , is a bit more likely than believing that God brought forth His begotten son from a virgin birth. The word almah is used only a few times in the Bible. It may not necessarily translate to a virgin but a young woman who is to be married. Also a woman without children.

Concerning Immanuel who is to be born from a young woman who is unwed is sinful according to the law. A virtuous woman is almost always considered a virgin and especially from one who would bear a child whose name means God with us.

The gospel of Matthew and Luke was written almost a century later. We also don't know whether they were written exactly at that time or not, or whether they were written later. Mary's virginity is a mystery and Jesus' biological descent is based on these books in the way he mentioned. However, why does biological descent have to come from David? In fact, the liberation that Jesus (as messiah) brought to the world had nothing to do with the oppression of the Jewish people at that time. And who said that what is written in the Torah about the Messiah corresponds exactly to the purpose of God's infinite wisdom about his mission of the Messiah in the world? Perhaps the gospel of Luke and Matthew trying to find a genelogy solution, or trying to safeguard what would make sense in the physical world, as they were written by men, ended up making the same errors in perception of the Messiah. Perhaps the divine ancestry of the Messiah in the man who was Jesus of Nazareth is not properly founded anywhere. But that doesn't mean He isn't. Jesus of Nazareth before being crucified, asked each of the apostles if each of them believed whether or not He was the Messiah.
He knew he was going to die a horrible death before being imprisoned. And that He, by God's divine will, could not escape this fate. The people before Pontius Pilate chose the death of the supposed (false Messiah) and not the death of Barabbas. And for a simple reason: Only God has the right to take life and no other man, even if he is the worst criminal.
This is to conclude that He himself had the perception that the greatest mystery of Faith, applicable to every Jew who lived close to him, was exactly to Believe or Not, that he was the Messiah.

I'm studying the Jewish teachings lately and after being a Christian many years and reading the Bible many times and yearly several years I see teaching in the Torah that is not preached or taught but avoided in Christian Churches and I believe what the Word says. Ive ALWAYS believed their is ONE GOD even going to Churches that tech this. I have recently came upon the same questions. I searched my DNA and Genealogy and find I had two types of Jewish ancestors: Sephardic and Ashkenazi. Could you expound to me on: Psalm 110 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion:

It's gotten to the point in my regression of my early indoctrination in christianity where anyone who references Jesus as "G-d" angers me. Just like a groom comes home to his new bride and sees her in cahoots with another man. I finally understand what it meant by the "unfaithful bride." Ephraim and Manasseh weren't Jacob's biological sons, but rather adopted sons, and became Jewish by adoption even though their mother was a gentile. Jesus became Joseph's son by adoption and a Jew via His Jewish mother.

One of the obvious issues with claiming that Luke is tracing Mary's genealogy is that all the names are of men, which means that the author thought that establishing genealogy required looking at the male ancestors. If female ancestry was important then the names in Luke should be all female. If you say "No. Mary's lineage is established through her male ancestry" then you admit that female ancestry is irrelevant to Jesus.

The strange thing about this is that in Genesis 6 it is written that sons of God took the daughters of men as wives, and their children became men of renown and giants.
