I just finished this game and moving to Survivor next. I loved it so much honestly with all it's imperfections. I love the story and the characters as well as the world-building. I wished there are more boss fights though.
At the hardest difficulty, I'd recommend it as somebody's first soulslike. It's easy enough but still challenging.
I jsut hate all the exploring and puzzle stuff. If want to play a game like this i play Uncharted or Tomb raider.
I got a damn lightsaber, i want to fight stuff.
Completely disagree about the spaces. I've never played a game that felt more artificial in its level design.
Like a classic Tomb Raider with photorealistic graphics.
Since Outlaws flopped, decided to play this. Fallen Order absolutely nails the jedi fantasy. Force pushing a storm trooper across a ravine then swinging around your lightsaber is freaking awesome! Commander Waller as Cere was annoying and so was trying to traverse the map looking for secrets but other than that great game! 😊
ОтветитьComing back to this after outlaws, kinda wondering where all the love for the small details went. Also the change of tone is quite telling
Like how is outlaws less star warsy in a way where it isn't worth it to a star wars fan but this is?
thanks
ОтветитьJedi Fallen Order felt like a mishmash.
A mix of Uncharted style platforming and climbing, darksouls-like combat, and Metroid Prime feeling of exploration and backtracking to reveal more secrets with new abilities...
And I love it.
Excellent review, I'm a few hours into this and everything SkillUp said here is ringing exactly right. Cheers!👏
ОтветитьThis game was a beautiful surprise to me
ОтветитьI’m not a Star Wars fan, but I tried this game anyway cuz the graphic looks awesome and after playing the Mass Effect I wanted something space/futuristic related. But honestly I couldn’t get over the first hour or so, seems boring and long to me, and the combat was not really to my liking. Really wanted to like the game though :(
ОтветитьI started playing this a few days ago after watching some stuff on the new game. As usual your review perfectly sums up how I feel. Great game overall despite its shortcomings 👌
ОтветитьCompletely ignored the force meter during the combat section.
ОтветитьI agree.
It feels like an overall pretty good game but it had some faults and every aspect of it is just "good" not "great", at least by how I feel.
This was the game that I played directly AFTER beating Sekiro. I was deeply saddened by how clunky the combat was at first. I'd set the game to GMJ difficulty expecting lightsaber Sekiro. I quickly turned it down to Story Mode difficulty once I realized it just turned enemies into damage sponges. Immediately my experience was improved. The bosses are a bit too easy, but carving up stormtroopers hasn't been this fun since Force Unleashed.
ОтветитьI want a single player Jedi rpg. This was an appetizer
ОтветитьI'll be honest I've just completed this game because, well, im not a big starwars guy and wanted to wait for it to be cheap.
I enjoyed it, but I find we didn't have a long enough game, we barely got time with our crew, and I don't see why by the end we are so close.
I'm hoping survivor has more playtime because this was simply to short for a game imo
Combat: sucks.
Map design: SUCKS.
Story: Good.
If you are Star Wars fan, go try it out. If not, best stay out.
Just make this game into a movie and we can forget about this whole Last Jedi crap!!! Seriously, this as a movie would've been amazing!
ОтветитьBoy this leans pretty heavily into the assumption you're a Star Wars fan.
Ответитьpersonally I feel the combat is almost as good as Sekiro when I fight the final 3 lightsaber bosses, and that insane extra boss on training mode
ОтветитьGame is really good
Ответитьi'm not a fan of Star wars, i never watched anything star wars related but i had a blast playing this game... as a souls veteran i liked the combat so much and i think it's quite challenging on Jedi Grand Master and that's perfect for me, the sekiro posture mechanic is not that good tho.
The world of this game is just amazing and u can tell there's so much passion and love behind it. The atmosphere is just captivating. i always thought that video games are so much better than movies because they have the ability to make you feel like you're there, in some peculiar planet on a distant galaxy....
I really hope that EA would realize that it's better to let it's talented studios do their thing instead of pressing them to release unfinished garbage.
I HATED this game
ОтветитьOn sale for PlayStation for $15. Great game especially for that price. Sale lasts til 9/1/22
ОтветитьI disagree with you on the combat because I enjoyed the combat I just wish we had a bit more combos for duel lightsabers and more badass gear
So for me the game is a 8/10 and I can’t wait for the sequel next year💪🏽
Skill up is a OG. When he mentioned Soul Reaver and Raziel he was goated.
ОтветитьCredit for the Soul Reaver reference, evidence you may know a little something about gaming
ОтветитьThis game is the perfect example of gamers appreciating a good game with flaws
ОтветитьHonestly, the sekiro-like combat is PERFECT for lightsaber fights.
ОтветитьSomehow, that combo meter returned.
ОтветитьFor me the combat was more like if Sekiro blocked when you told it to
ОтветитьUnderaged game! Got it for 10$ on psn
ОтветитьI mean, I can't see Nathan Drake ever running on walls so yeahh. This is basically Respawn's first third person traversal game. The third person traversal might not be as good as Uncharted since Uncharted is the pinnacle of that but it was pretty damn close. I think this game is much closer to Sekiro than any other game. The combat is very similar to Sekiro and not that much difference in quality other than 1 being much harder than the other and Fallen Order gives you more ways to fuck around with the enemy compared to Sekiro. Your critique with the whole poise meter thing is understandable and I get that some players wants to go completely ham on your enemies without them blocking your attacks but I think this is a very personal critique that I don't find to be major at all. Is it as good as Sekiro's combat? no, but it definitely isn't bad or "If sekiro's combat sucks", that is way too harsh for me
ОтветитьI disagree with the combat this feels very good and very fun I play sekiro and this game and I can say I like both.
This game feels great.
Good review
Not a great game to me tho. Story is terrible. Unfinished game and bugs but the gameplay or mechanics are good and is what saves it. Fun to launch troopers off the ledge and even kill bosses that way.
If this game had a skip cutscene option, this game would’ve been better.
You play it once and you’ll forget about it in a couple of days. Force unleashed would be the better buy or just get it cheaper on game pass. That’s about it.
Your analysis of the combat, poise and the feel they generate was a perfect match with my experience.
ОтветитьThis game is just awful. Some redeeming features, namely the world and visuals. The enemy designs, maps, ratchet and clank style progression, pathetic combat and half baked skill point progression system. All awful. I'm not against challenging games. I've finished DeS, ds1, ds3, sekiro and platinumed bloodborne. Every death on these games was my fault and contributed to the learning experience of the games. There's no such experience with this game. I sat down to play a casual action adventure and was met with a game longing to be sekiro and got ratchet and clank with souls like features. Such a disappointment.
ОтветитьAmazing visuals and star wars feeling. They totally nailed it. But for me this game experienced was ruined by the horrendous level designs. The levels are enormous and even with the ability to rotate the map it is really difficult to work out how to get from A to B. In several maps missing a jump can take you to a different region of the map. Making it slow to get back to where you were. Especially at the start of the game many of your movements are one direction only - jumps down, zip lines, ice or mud slides, even some lifts. This means you just get trapped in the wrong area. My worst case was spending over 2 hours just trying to get back to the ship as you cannot just retrace your steps due to the movements being one directional. The map does not tell you which paths are one directional. So you constantly hit dead ends. There is no fast travel or quit option. So if you are lost in the depths of a planet and can't get out. You are screwed as you can't even quit the mission and start again. This game took me 50 hours and 20 hours was probably looking at the map. And the "uncharted" sequences are a bit rough, the controls on the ice / mud slide are not very good at all and those take multiple tries and even swinging on a rope (which is easy in every other game) can be difficult to swing in a straight line, for no reason the camera and character veer off to the left or right as he reaches the high point of the swing. I wanted to explore for upgrades but then would get lost and quit the game. By the time I finished the game the main memory I was left with was the total ball ache it is trying to get explore and trying to get back to the ship.
Ответитьcant wait for the ubisoft take, high hopes
Ответить...... Since Podracer
ОтветитьHow has nobody noticed this game is actually prince of Persia in space?
ОтветитьShill
Ответитьive started the game and a few hours in and im bored. combat is super slow and boring so i came here to see if it gets better or more interesting or if the story is worth the slog (as a Star Wars fan)
ОтветитьThis game is stunning, we need more😍
ОтветитьI just finished this and came back to the review, 100% agree
Ответитьthis reviewer must hate his life
Ответитьisn't the progression system too simplistic for a souls game?
ОтветитьIf they made a dark souls Star Wars game. It would be game of the year and possibly the greatest game of the new generation. Even this early into the life cycle.
