I read Shady Hollow after watching one of your videos, and I loved it. I ordered all the others and hope to read Cold Clay in December.

What an amazing haul! The Spell Shop is actually the last book I bought, I'm hoping I can get to it this month because it sounds lovely! And I have to say that after seeing your edition The Teller of Small Fortunes is definitely going to have to be my next purchase, it's gorgeous!

I began reading British Library Crime Classics when I discovered their winter or holiday themed mysteries. I don't buy them full price, but snap them up at Little Free Libraries, thrift shops, used book stores, and when the ebook versions goes on sale. Check out the holiday titles for your week of mystery reading. I love to read as many wintry whodunnits as possible in December. It's just so cozy! Instead of telling you the last book I picked up, I'll mention what I bought yesterday on an adventure with a bestie - The Guardian of the Night Tarot deck. The art work is stunning.

Persuasion does have that wonderful line that makes my knees go weak - You pierce my soul.' OMG My knees also go weak whenever I hear James Mason or Yul Bryner speak in old films...... and the end of You've Got Mail when the Tom Hanks character says something like.. 'How can you forgive this guy for standing you up and not forgive me for this tiny little thing of putting you out of business? Oh, how I wish you would..'.. Have to say, this gets me every time! But I digress. Always love your videos, especially the TBRs.

I really need to read The Winnowing Flame too. I was also planning on putting it on my books to read in 2025 (I'm not sure yet if i'm gonna do 25 because that's a lot of books).
I also want to read Thornhedge. T. Kingfisher is one of those authors that i keep putting off for no real reason. I think i might be a little scared because they're so hyped.
The Wayfarer series is another one i really have to try. It sounds amazing.
Do you think the fairy element in the Marie Brennen one is a reference to The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spencer?

📚 I have picked up quite a few new book since mid October. I just finished We Have Always Lived in the Castle. A good transition from spooky season to late fall. I'm itching to start How My Neighbor Stole Christmas by Meghan Quinn. I just don't want to burn out on holiday reads to soon!

I have read the graveyard shift it is a good read with a sad twist at the end. I would recommend it.

I have started reading The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi. Some of the chapters are quite long and the text is quite small, but I am so far enjoying the book.

I'm French and have read Boris Vian's L'écume des jours when I was a teenager (your title), it's absolutely beautiful, hope you love it, I still remember after all these years. Love Becky Chambers too 💜 I hope you have fun with all your new books !

The Teller of Small Fortunes is one I might get to by the end of the year depending on my holds at the library. That edition is beautiful! Oh no! The Pheonix Keeper was on my TBR, but perhaps it's not for me. YA vibes is not my thing. I need to read more Becky Chambers. Midwinter Mysteries is currently on my couch waiting for me to pick it up!
