i want the 16 pro max.. i have the 13, i wanted to upgrade but the money i spent, the phone is great why would i give it away for $350, after paying 1300 for it. This is absurd, and i am going ot pay for the 16 the same as the 13. no.. they will bring the price down or i will keep what i have, i do want the longer battery life, the newer phone with a lighter titanium. But they have problems already and someone had to keep getting another phone, 3rd one and the problem was finally fixed, night mode issue. So they have problems and they don't tell you, when you do complain, they give you a new phone but the 2nd time, they make up some story about having to send it to a tech. I don't want to buy a phone that doesnt' work like it should on the first buy. i wish the iphone wasn't square, hurts my hand, the X was round and so nice. Wish there was another option, we don't care about the phone anymore, if we use What;s app. Maybe the phone part can be gone and only internet with the hope more places will have wifi to keep using the phone and internet. I can use my phone, tik tok isn't working anymore, the government hates knowing you can get information they don't want you to have. Huawei might not be as good, but the price is lower. US is so scared of losing everything after giving China all our technology and jobs.

If Apple has a company to fear, it is Nvidia. They are the largest chip supplier for AI servers.

I have an I phone 13 and that does me fine. As for Apple intelligence? Just upgraded my iPad mini 4 for the A17 pro. You never upgrade something based on how good the new one is. You should upgrade based how bad the current product you have is.

I think it is not that dramatic. They just use the LLM. The choice for ChatGPT is wise because it is the most famous so far. Times will come where you can select the LLM of your choice. That will be the real deal since we know that different Models perform in certain topics better than others. Apple should aquire Perplexity because what they made in Pro with the flexibility of selecting preferred LLMs for specific tasks is just great.

And I think you missed something. Even if SIRI did not well Apple has implemented AI across all devices already for years. They just don’t called it AI until now because now they MUST do it. For example look at all the sensors (especially in the Vision Pro), look at the tracking capabilities we use for years now. It‘s all intelligent technology. And Apple made all this mainstream. It is a much more user centric approach to implement it without labeling it because of getting a wider acceptance. So many people were concerned about AI until it became big (and many still are). Imagine launching a artificial intelligent technology without preparing the people for.

Apple always had a different roadmap than others. I am sure this is no exception. Maybe the collab with Open AI is just a big user test to find out how people think about having an AI driven all day device. Imagine the lost money if users reject the technology because it is too suspect for them.

I like the iPhone 16 Pro just fine - Apple is inching, year by year, toward giving us an amazing audio, video, photo device in a tiny package - mobile journalists must be going nuts about Audio Mix. However ... A feature that appeared to be promised during the iPhone 16 launch is the ability to change the Audio Mix setting in external editors such as Premiere or Resolve. This is important, because the Photos app can't edit or import ProRes LOG files saved on an external SSD. It leaves Windows users without a way to edit Audio Mix for these files. This isn't discussed in the Apple iPhone online user manual, nor does anyone in the Apple online Communities know how to do it. When I import ProRes LOG footage into Resolve, I see just two audio tracks - not multiple tracks representing each Audio Mix setting so that I can choose the one I like. I have eight days remaining to return the 16 Pro, and if I've wasted $1,000+ to gain this feature specifically, I will have no choice but to do so.

Siri doesn't work at all anymore. It can't even call people that are in your address book. It was able to do this many years ago. It keeps getting worse.

Forget AI, I just want hands free dialing like it used to work even on flip phones. Siri is beyond garbage. Beyond frustrating. It works less than 50% of the time.

I'm quite puzzled by all those videos about Siri being dumb. I switched to iPhone specifically for it, when I learned I could customize it to my needs. I wasn''t disappointed, even surprised and amazed by how much I could do with it.

Siri has been my everyday assistant and has boosted my work, my memory, my organisation 100x for the last 3 years. For instance I'm a heavy reader and before Siri I had frustrations, a lot of them: I know this word, why can't I remember what it means; where did I read about that again; how come I remember almost nothing of that book I read x years ago... In fact, before Siri I was a bad reader, or at least a very inefficient one.

Today, i have my SIri routines. when I ask it to "register a new book", it creates an Apple note with its title, a folder with all the subfolders in Files, a QR code I print and then paste on the cover. I switch books by scanning that QR - double tap the back of my iPhone - and Siri remembers what book I last scanned. While reading I then ask it to "add a comment" and it adds it to the book note along with the page number after I dictated it. I never forget a good quote ever, like that hillarious chapter in Mrs. Dalloway I read 2 years ago or that out-of-this-world-brilliant description in Proust. Later when I ask it to search my notes, it gives me the page number of all the comments which include the word i'm searching like the aforementioned "synesthesia" Proust part.

When I ask it to "create a mindmap", it adds a new mindmap to the subfolder of that book - and a QR code to stick on the page to open that mindmap - and I start mindmapping (I mindmap vocally btw, the hell with those tiny keys). I never thought I would read Durkheim's books so easily, but mindmapping all the way with just Siri and voice commands - while taking a bath - made it straightforward.

I ask it to turn chapters into audiobooks and it does, when I want to keep reading that philosophy masterpiece in the car, I just take pictures of the pages and Siri takes care of the rest to add the audio file to the appropriate folder. I read half of Spinoza's Ethics that way: read the chapter, understand about 1% of it, listen to it and grasp another 1% etc. I can boast having understood at least 7.6% of the damn book thx to Siri!

If I stumble upon a new word, technical or otherwise, I ask it to define using the source database I provide and save it in my flashcards deck so I remember it forever - Yes Siri can connect to any database using API and any app supporting URL Schemes. I recently had a very nice conversation with a neuro-pediatrician after having read a book on brain injuries and another one on autism, she was startled by my vocabulary and understanding on the matter, well I had learned the glossary and brain anatomy by heart with almost no effort thanks to Siri and Anki. Plus medical terms are just Greek words I now understand better and better. Ischaemia just means "the blood is stopped", oh but wait, hemmorhagic has Haima in it too: "the blood escapes", boy doctors just want to look smart by greekifying everything. I have a Siri shortcut to manage my etymology deck in Anki I then practice from time to time: Siri, etymology of anosognosia? "Anosognosia from the Greek... blah blah, do you want to save it to Anki?" - Yes. The process is so straightforward that I took the habit of remembering historic figures with their dates of birth/death, because why not given how easy and effortless it feels. It helps so much in reading and understanding history books.

Oh don't worry I know fun too. I ask Siri to create a crossword puzzle with the last 20 words/concepts I learned, or just random words from any of my decks, to relax once in a while.
