Sony ripping people off once again
ОтветитьMakes me wonder how much of these features could have been a firmware update for the first camera? Like sure, these are high level cameras with some professional features. But, other than probably a better buffer and faster processing, could we have gotten maybe some of the AI focus improvements through an update?
I dunno, seems like they are really hitting that level of "what more can we do?" for cameras and just trying any little thing to squeeze out performance.
Sony is definitely getting a fat chunk of coal this year for Christmas.
ОтветитьThat is just a strange and costly way to get a new firmware
ОтветитьYeah, the price is insane. You can get a Z8 in Europe for half of that price…. And now with Tamron on board it is really appealing
Ответитьwoww The Sony A1 II is here...and I still cannot afford the first A1 lol 😆😅
ОтветитьI agreee best screen but the resolution and brightness of display is terrible.
Ответитьyou missed a camera in your merge they also added all the vlogging (zve-1) video features on the a1ii that are not on the a9iii.
ОтветитьHy brother can you please buy me a camera please 🙏🏻🥺
ОтветитьI will wait for the A1-III 😉
ОтветитьAs a professional product photographer I have to say I've owned sony for many years I'm really impressed they are the best mirrorless camera company on the market right now they play ball themselves sony is admirable
ОтветитьSo nice to hear you are spending time with your daughter. I'm looking at replacing my aging A9 MKI spring next year. As much as I would love a A1MKII it will suffer the same problems as my current A1. I shoot a lot of presenters in front of LED screens and the A1 suffers terrible Moire. So I am thinking of getting the A9III as the lower pixel count should mean its at least as good as my A9MKI
ОтветитьThat intro segment explaining the specs through the MacOS UI was very cool!
Ответить$6500 for a Frankenstein of a camera with no actual innovation. I'm so happy with my a7iv. its versatile and the only thing I need is a good 85. The only thing worth upgrading my a7iv for is the a9 and I'm not doing that any time soon.
ОтветитьAnd still they haven't fixed the small grip. My fingers get stuck between the grip of the camera and a bigger lens 🤦
ОтветитьGive me a screen upgrade on my A1 for 1000$. That's the only thing I'm missing. I will buy it lol but not switch to an A1II that costs 3000$ probably to switch
ОтветитьGrande a1 1.5😅
ОтветитьVery instructive video, well described and honest opinion; what else do I want to know, you made it all very clear. But at $6500 US (or $10,000 Canadian $$$ taxes included), that is extremely hard to justify in my one-man pro photographer operation. My A7 III coupled with the Carl Zeiss-Sony 24-70 f2.8 and the excellent Sony 70-200 f2.8 does the job for 95% of my work: portrait, corporate, weddings, etc. I can understand for anybody doing sports, wild nature-birds and animals, I'd even say war zone or dangerous situation, but then again, I'm not sure that I'd carry a $10000 camera around my neck, I'd go with an iPhone, ... Even so, love your review, even if that camera is not in my ballpark, it's interesting to know what is available out there... THANKS Manny, you do a good, honest review!
ОтветитьIm happy i went with the A9III
ОтветитьNo doubt this is a great camera, but even for what you described as your use case, is it worth the high price? Better than a comparable Canon? Nikon?
ОтветитьCan you apply the in camera luts to jpegs - Fuji film simulation style?
Ответить😯 Manny, coming to Africa?
Which part of Africa are you visiting?
Much love bro.
I held off on the a1, Im glad I did, I think if you don't own an a1 this is going to be worth it. I didn't have the a7rIV, I went from the rIII to the rV. I wasn't a fan of the a9iii, from my a9ii, I will be getting this a1 II.
ОтветитьI still use my A7R3 and have no new offering that has come out that would get me to upgrade.
ОтветитьCanon R5mk2 is not a stacked sensor, right? Seems like stacked sensors cost $2k extra.
Ответитьi have to say it was an interesting choice for 8k 30 when r5ii does 8k 60. in saying that how many people are actually going to use 8k60. the files depending how many clips your recording ( say sport event ) would be massive to deal with.
ОтветитьIs the colour science better than A7RV?
ОтветитьSome people saying they wait for Mark III :(
ОтветитьSony should still support the original A1; like wtf, animal eye AF still doesn’t work for video, and PPLUTs can definitely be added via software update.
ОтветитьBut now the big question: where'd you get that beanie? Lol cause I want one now as an avid wearer of black
ОтветитьToo bad it doesn’t have computational photography, smart features and iOS or Android 😕
Ответитьbrooo, sell the A1 and an unused lens, it will soften the blow. and it can't be the perfect camera, as a9 iii sales will fk up.
ОтветитьThe Canon R5 mark 2 is more performant (8k60) for 2k less. As you say “it is the perfect camera for me”, but not for me!
ОтветитьThe Mark i was a flex…the Mark ii is not. That’s why it feels disappointing. It doesn’t help that half the upgrades really should have been firmware updates on the OG, and the price isn’t nearly as justified as it used to be. The delta between it and the competition just isn’t what it was 4 years ago…the Leica price tag is harder to stomach, as a result.
ОтветитьThank you. Finally got the time to see your point of view. Currently I shoot mostly with one of my 2 x A1, my A7RV, or the Canon R5 I own. Been trying to decide if I sell one of my A1’s and buy an R5 Mark II or an A1 II. Sure the R5 appears cheaper but if I go that route will finally have to add a modern RF L prime(s) at 35/1.4 or 24/1.4. Or just go with the A1 II since I own a full set of GM/GMII primes and zooms. Struggling to figure out which way to go. I’ve got Canon RF L glass holy trinity and primes at 50/1.2, 85/1.2, 100/2.8, and 135/1.2 and the RF 100-500 L. On the Sony side I again own their GM II holy trinity and GM primes at 14mm, 20mm, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm and then the 100-400 GM and 200-600 G. Which way do I go since for which every way I choose I will also sell of som glass to finally reach out to get a big white like the 300 GM or 600 GM from Sony or something equivalent fromCanon that I can use with pre-capture. Help me please. Take care.
Ответить… bro, do you really need an a1 II? for what? You are a portrait shooter. 🤷🏼♂️
ОтветитьI get your points but I wouldn’t say buying the a1 at it release was “getting in at the wrong time.” It was revolutionary when it came out. For speed and resolution, it smoked the two other big guns for a couple years.
The big three companies have always leaped-frogged each other and they will continue to do so… making sure customers of all three brands get pissed about something at some point in time! 😂
APPLE WHAT ARE YOU DOING. OOPS my bad I mean SONY. same as last yr model
ОтветитьSeems like Sony didn't have a plan for A1 II or they didn't want to make It so good that It would canibalize A9 III or cine cameras. If I were to buy one today It would be A7R V and if I could wait, then It would be A7 V.
ОтветитьThe final “we will find out soon” felt like, yeahhh I don’t think it’s worth it 😆
ОтветитьThis is going to be a tough one for me. What I also hate is the lag with DxO support and getting an L-bracket from RRS, (and cost of a new bracket).
ОтветитьIs there any reason to NOT always shoot silent shutter on A1ii?
ОтветитьOverpriced R5 mk2
ОтветитьI have two of the original A1s and I am planning to upgrade one of them.
Ответитьcall it what it is, A9iiiR
ОтветитьCome to west Africa Ghana
Cause I would like to join you shoot so you gift me any camera body please 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank's Manny! I'll keep my Canon R5II and save a couple grand...
Ответитьagreed 👍 🤝 👍
ОтветитьFor that price, id rather just get an r5 mark ii or a z8 for 3500 just like smartphones we've hit a plateau this is why I like the cameras like the nikon zf a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stale camera market
Ответить
