Another great video, Robert. When driving in sand I also try to park with the vehicle facing downhill (where possible) to make moving off easier. 🙂
ОтветитьNow we are talking 😅
ОтветитьInformative video to watch this morning with my coffee.
It is nice to see you apply some physics to your videos and enjoy them a lot, I can relate to them.
Cheers
Fantastic video! Got a lot out of this one. Thank you Robert 🙂
ОтветитьThanks Robert, this video is so packed full of extremely useful info for sand driving. I emailed it to a mate as being almost as good as having professional instruction!
ОтветитьAs usual - excellent presentation Robert. Well done. Understand track conditions, know and prep your vehicle and have a plan B and C ready just in case.
ОтветитьGood info for people new to sand driving.
ОтветитьAnd when parking on a slope, point downhill.
ОтветитьCan you please switch on your in-camera stabilisation.
ОтветитьExcellent Robert. Thank you. Very informative reminders. I only go out a couple of times a year these days and it's easy to forget things.
ОтветитьThanks for the great video! It amazes me how much keeping the wheel straight helps.
ОтветитьExcellent presentation.
Could include travel straight up and straight down to avoid roll overs on sloping sand.
Avoid increasing or decreasing vehicle speed if you have to travel over shiny wet sand, . .but prefer not to drive over shiny wet sand as it can swallow vehicles .
Pack your vehicle in such a way, to have equal weight distribution over all the drive wheels, to aid floatation and traction.
Keep an eye on the cooling system of the vehicle as sand driving is requiring more power and less air movement than open road .
MOST IMPORTANT, know the times of the tides.
Only travel beaches on outgoing tide, to have recovery time, not lose a vehicle to the sea.
Carry recovery equipment, drinking water, communication and first aid .
My favourite part about sand driving is that a cheap stock 4wd may out perform a modified one simply because of weight. Heck deflated highway tyres offer a smoother and gentle ride on sand because of the thinner sidewalls.
I always laugh at those silly videos of yahoo's in this big diesel trucks getting stuck, and a couple in a RAV4 of all things just scoots around and motors off.
Great video I rekon it may go viral on ther otherside of the world
ОтветитьGood info, but It’s the old question of why this channel still hasn’t exploded. So I’d like to give just a bit of constructive criticism. In my opinion the thumbnail header has the look of an ad, not sure how long you’ve been using it, so that might prevent some people from clicking. But of course you’re better versed on the subject than me. You’re the type of person people wanna root for, so I hope you start getting the views your knowledge deserves.
ОтветитьI believe you had a defender. In my 110 the low/high diff lock gear says not greater than 60klms/hr on stick. Did you go faster than this in High 4×4? Thanks
ОтветитьVery good vids ! Learning a lot ! Subbed !
ОтветитьI'd like to bring up the narrow vs. Wide Tire controversy and say that I've realized they really do have pros and cons. I guarantee you in this exact same test if we had a spare set of tires and wheels waiting to put on that truck and test out the same exact spots with 10.5 or 11 inch wide tires down to one bar it would be better than 9.5 inch wide at the same air
ОтветитьOddly most experts I’ve heard, say High range is best on sand.
If you mount your Sand Flag on the roof platform it’s even higher and seen even earlier.
What does L2S-FBC stand for?
I like the part where he runs the sand through his fingers...
ОтветитьG'day Rob
I'm thinking that a sand flag at either end could be a good idea
Have you ever seen someone with that setup?
Is it ok to switch back and forth 4h-2h back 4h everytime the terrain changes and while moving? My car is 2020 jimny MT.
ОтветитьHi Robert. I have had some experience in driving in sand. Correct me if I’m wrong. I have used a lot of your tips but one thing I find it easier to drive on sand is I have been using high range in this particular situation because in low range the vehicle has more torque and I find it it sinks faster than on high.
ОтветитьYou are a gem, I am sure this is an underrated content. Keep it up! 👍
ОтветитьThanks Robert, I learnt alot. Thank you
Ответитьi have watched a lot of tutorial viudeos and this might be the only one actually telling the techniques and what gear to use in which circumstances, thanks for great introduction !
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьNormal road rules apply on beaches
Ответитьthank you, that's full of useful information. I appreciate it.
ОтветитьWhat locations were you filming ?
ОтветитьVery cool video ! Tks
