Don't trace other peoples art but if your trying to copy your art or trace a photo you have that's totally fine to me

Just stumbled on traced art today.
Reported and messaged the original artist about it.
Especially since the tracers are selling sketch commissions.

It's okay to trace but don't claim it as your own art, give credits to the original artist, is not good to lie about stuff you dont do

This counts as a steal but
to me.
just trace on some other internet images and not art.

What is trace

Trace can be used in a good mean by someone who is trained to draw right now Trace can help improve like tracing the head or hand then just finding a trick in it on how to draw not everyone knows how to draw a head or hand in the first place(unless you are genius who bless by god) even if you look at countless of the tutorial it still won't do well if you do not try to draw it yourself so when you trace you can use that feeling and look at how to draw by it but if you just copied it and claim as your own or change a little then post and claim as your own??? just admit that you are guilty in every way


Trace is like a blade if used well you can improve your way of drawing shapes or get some tricks and tips for your own after that just try to draw your own art and compare find a problem with your art then find other art to look at what mistake you make then improve Art is like learning, you learn and learn and then one day you won't need a book to solve the solution you can solve it on your own


And for art style, I bet when you are fine with how you draw without reference or trace that is when you truly have the art style that you like your own art style. like come on if I want to draw anime but the school only makes me draw something realistic then I will only be able to draw realistic things not anime but if I learn how to draw anime but not realistic things then I can only draw anime but that what I want so ye trace is good for learning bad for using


Also, I'm new at art so this is just what I understand since I'm new some of this can be wrong don't take my word seriously okay? except when I say don't post if you trace that is bad even for someone who just started drawing like me

3 Years ago I always loved to traced art because I wanted to understand how to draw. It does ended up become my behaviour to traced an art but only the poses or the character I wanted to draw. Usually I put an image I wanted to draw. And I did not wanted to trace all of em and only give a different poses. Back then I did traced some art COMPLETELY, Because I just can't make my own poses or ideas. As soon this become my kind of behaviour I stopped because it isn't good. Yesterday I tried my 1st attempt on making art without a single trace and it does looks bad. Tbh I get it, Is just my attempt at not doing something bad. But usually it somehow ended up makes me worried of making art if I have to go with a different and new way of it.

Well if you trace well i think that's cheating i don't know but you can trace for fun or not trace if you take art serious then your free hand drawing but if your tracing no not taking it seriously 😆😆😆i don't know😊

(Not a hate comment) but to trace its good for practice of drawing and its fine as long as not you dont post and sometimes there is free to trace because if u post or gonna get hate and all that stuff so (please dont attack me on this ) btw u can post if its free to trace i think btw new on this channel

Tracing is good in it's own way but tracing then posting that artists work online and or selling their art for profit is unacceptable.

You can trace for practice..
But you can't use it for another way.

in my sincere opinion and experience: tracing is ok if you're trying to learn how to draw in a certain style, that's how I discovered mine :)

Tracing isnt actually bad, in fact tracing is actually good, it teaches us how to write and draw in a very effective manner, however, it gets bad when that tracing is publicised and the tracer calls it their own, that is stealing art9otherwise know as plagarism) which is where tracing gets its bad reputation from

I do trace sometimes, but I don’t post it. It’s just help to learn human anatomy. I usually stick with irl references though. If I use art I don’t trace it and try to match it correctly without tracing it. Ofc the style is gonna be different tho

I literally never trace, everything should be raw and immediate otherwise it's flawed, I'm a major perfectionist when it comes to art

I think it's okey trancing IF you're learning how to draw without doing some course. But you will have a greater path and can't post the "created arts" bc you still need to be original by yourself

What's the song when the first artist shows up?

I trace photos of myself to understand a pose sometimes but i prefer sculpting

when I draw I take a series of images of different characters, to then make a collage of the components of the latter to then trace a basic draft on which then once all the layers with the pieces of the characters have been removed I start to make some refinements and redo let's say the positions of the limbs by modifying their perspective. I'm still learning how the concept of perspective works so I use a lot of references to understand a little what the fuck I'm doing in drawing 😅
