Flau'Jae, I impress upon you that you make 2 basic investments with your NIL money to secure your future if things that don't go according to plan;
•Buy a small townhome in your hometown. You'll own a place to live free & clear for the rest of your life. You don't want to end up worrying about paying rent.
•Take $400,000 of your NIL cash, investing in 2 major high cap stocks, 2 dividend paying ETFs, and 2 dividend paying mutual funds. Do not touch this until you're in your 50s. There will be millions in the account no matter what happens in your career due to cost appreciation and dividends reinvested.
Don't engage in bad spending habits. It's an addiction that you can't keep up with. I'm not sure why you would spend a huge chunk of your NIL cash after taxes on a $200,000 vehicle. Don't put yourself in a position where you're waiting for your next cash deposit because you're broke at a high level. Don't end up like many broke athletes. Good interview. I have been following the W since it’s inception. The money is truly not as big of a deal as discussed. The W consists of 40 games and the NBA is 80+. Another difference is the W is only 27 years young and the NBA is 77 years old. The average salary for an NBA player in 1971 or 1972, 26 or 27 years after it’s inception, was $90,000 (which equates to $500,00 today). So, it isn’t that much of a difference. Also, they have a G league and the W doesn’t have a league that helps with their development. Lastly, of the 12 teams, less than 3 made a profit last season. So, until the W gets more partnerships, turn profits and need less from the NBA for funding, it is what it is.

I think Clark made the right decision. Cube may have offered millions to her….but I would venture to say she would have made more for him as opposed to what she would have gotten.
