My all-time favorite vampire film. Bill Paxton's Severen is one of the most fun and scary movie characters I've ever seen in a horror film.

You HINT at the fact that 'Near Dark' is also a comment on 'Addiction' and its inherent problems, (and pleasures?) indeed... xx SF

It seems this is not available to watch. What a shame. Just like Strange Days, another Bigalow movie that has been locked out of streaming for some reason.

Very similar plot and ideas as Lost Boys just handled differently.

This has been on the list ever since I saw it talked about on 'At the movies' about 10 years ago. It's weird that's the ratings are so average when I've heard so many critics speak so highly of it.

It may be a decent film about vampires,a more realistic take on vampires somewhat,but it ain’t no fright night 😂

I am GenX and agree with this review. Lol I originally thought the cure was so out of place for a vampire story. Then I read Dracula. They were using the same treatment on Lucy and it was working, but she was just being rebitten every night.
