ОтветитьOne correction in the analysis - in most places swiggy maintains a seperate fleet for Instamart (limited to 3km radius and a different incentive plan) So, that makes it almost same as Zomato which has a separate fleet for Blinkit.
About the super app, it doesn't give Swiggy that big an advantage. Zomato has maintained separate apps with neat UI. Blinkit's quick link still shows up on the Zomato main page and new business ideas (like live events) can get tested on the main Zomato App to start with and be spinned off (to district app) when there is enough user traction.
More than the tech or delivery model, I think Zomato has witnessed better growth in the past 2-3 years mainly because of 2 factors - many young people (who are Zomato users as well) have invested in Zomato - that has helped Zomato gain loyalty. Moreover, Deepinder has a much better public connection than the founders of Swiggy (participation on Sharktank is one the factors, otherwise too he has direct presence on Social Media)

Just 1 thing if you wish to edit a part. There is a portion where you call out 18000 orders while on screen it is mentioned as 1800 orders.
This is a good video to understand how AOV translates to a better Contribution margin…the math. However it fails to fully address what strategy differentiates Blinkit from Amazon and Flipkart.
You explain that India1 customers are willing to pay a premium for the same product on Blinkit vs Amazon because of delivery speed. But how is Blinkit able to deliver under 15mins? Do they have more number of smaller darkstores? Do they have better picking and packing technology than Amazon? This video is a detailed ad to investors saying invest in Blinkit for ad space and not Amazon but it is not a case study comparing company operating strategy

ОтветитьIndia 1 customer is not rich. If you compare the India one customer 20 yrs ago to today's India one customer you will find a drastic difference. Earlier they use to save money thus maintaining a debt free lifestyle and consumption was controlled. The current India one's expenses are more focused on extravagance and lesser on savings
ОтветитьAlso a part of customer psychology for example in India3 iswhen they have the money they spen extra and choose convince, so it is hard to categorise India3, they will pay 2-5% extra and quench their purchase anxiety. India 3 purchase behaviour is very very unpredictable.
