One additional thing to mention, once the money has been contributed from payroll into your investment accounts, you still have to log into Vanguard / Fidelity to invest the money. Honestly it's not great. A couple things you could do, using Vanguard as an example.
1) You can set up an automation to invest the money into Vanguard mutual funds.
2) You can sign up for Vanguard Digital Advisor and they manage and invest your portfolio for you automatically.
