1. Personal Safety. 2. Fuel Budget. 3. Seasonal SnowBird Site Fees Increasing.
ОтветитьJust bought a 2018 FX and got 5.4% Apr loan. We love it!
ОтветитьThe summary of my comment is: I don't have a crystal ball.
I have had my Winnebago Adventurer 33 foot motorhome for 17 years ... fortunate purchase when I was new and knew nothing. I say fortunate as it has fit my travel style for a long time, is set up for all weather (I prefer Fall-Winter-early Spring travel). I am now 67, still working, but have been a self-employed software developer (contract programmer) for 37 years and work from home (stick and/or rv home) all of that time. I've travelled months at a time (7 mths longest) as well as overnight/weekend and everything in between. All these years, I have been based in NW Montana (grew up in Ohio). At this point, I have been thinking of downsizing as I want to travel only in the Pacific Northwest US or Canadian Southwest ... shorter trips that would be easier in something nimbler. I have also thought about selling my house which thanks to COVID and a lot of people wanting to move where I live ... is worth ... well, anyway it would add significantly to the coffers. I also want to move to a less busy (less $$) area for a home base.
All of the above to say that one day, while walking my dog in my woods with all of the what ifs rolling around in my head ... I realized: I do not have a crystal ball!! I can dither 'till the cows come home and ultimately, neither I nor any of the economic experts really KNOW how things will go so my job is to decide where I want my home base and what RV I want for travel ... a lot of the details are beyond my control. So, for myself, I have taken worrying about selling high and buying low out of the equation for both decisions. (***edited for typos :) )
I like the concept and been considering building such an RV concept. But I been thinking of it in either Florida or Texas. One is perfectly zoned for it. Just not sure about if I should add water and sewer services? Or simply get a company to offer them services.... I wonder how much per month does it normally cost for you guys as rental? Lease....
ОтветитьOMGosh!! We might be neighbors, soon! I live in SW Michigan!!! There’s nothing better than driving around our wine country, with your windows, smelling the wonderful aroma of the grapes on the vines!!!
Welcome to wine country! Or perhaps you’ll be in the Blueberry Capital of the World???
I think safety is the main thing, and I'm not talking about safe driving. The way crime is, criminals emboldened now. I fear break-ins, vandalizing of the RV, etc.
ОтветитьPfft.. Didn't get any doughnuts.. As I'm looking at the bag in the mirror... hahaha
ОтветитьComment: Good one!😊
ОтветитьI believe RV prices will tank. I plan to buy that 180k Class C for 99k. A year or two, I'm in no hurry. By the way, prices are high because demand is high. The economy is red hot. You guys have good problems.
ОтветитьWe are glad to see large properties showing up for RV’ers to purchase a lot as a home base spot. Hope this continues to expand.
ОтветитьThat one guy nailed it. We've seen this over and over again. Mom and pop campgrounds getting bought up by big corporations and jacking up the rates big time. When we first started 10 years ago you could get a very nice campground or rv resort for $32 a night. Now there over $50 and most of them even higher near $75 a night.
ОтветитьYou guys are living life!
ОтветитьI love how everyone thinks they are the only REAL RVers. What are the real qualifiers for being a real RVer ? Seriously ...
ОтветитьI think what brings success in You Tube World is certainly talent and hard work but more than that is ... Does the Camera Like You? If the camera likes you it's hard to screw up.
ОтветитьJust curious, what’s your feedback on your portable folding chairs. I’ve searched for them which turned out to be quite a task. They’re really expensive too so I’m just wondering do you think they’re worth the money I certainly do like the small footprint and profile one folder.
ОтветитьYou guys had to empty your house for selling ? I just went through this and it took a month !! Now your out running around like teenagers ! I’m amazed !
ОтветитьI think so many purchased RV's in the past two years that the ones who want them already have them and the ones who found out they don't enjoy the lifestyle will sell them in the next couple years unfortunately the price of the rv's went up so much that buying used is a better bargain. If you're still working and camping part time the cost of gas and inflation really isn't affecting whether you travel or not as will still have the income coming in and rving is still the cheapest way to vacation and get away.
ОтветитьFirst World Problems: "I have to pay 6% on my $150k RV". I love how one person thinks getting a 5th Wheel is "going smaller." Seriously, there are people lying awake at night worrying about paying for food, medicine and housing. Keep things in perspective.
ОтветитьA white couch for RV traveling??? Hmm, I sure liked your old explore and boondock videos more.
ОтветитьThe interest rate on my first house in the 80s was 10 1/2 percent, thought it was a good deal when I refinanced to 8 percent.😀
ОтветитьWith any uptick in demand comes an uptick in prices. Being energy independent (boondocking) you would probably be better off. Campgrounds are going to hike the 💲
ОтветитьThank you for your great videos and live streams. I am hoping to find property in AZ as you found in Tennessee.
🎶 Happy trails 🎶
What happened to your fifth wheel?
ОтветитьI retire in 3 1/2 years. Buying a small B+, 21-23 feet. Obviously in my line of work I know the value of time. We’re leaving then. I think the Rv world will crash in the next 1-2 years. Then stabilize out and I’m hoping for a good deal when we buy. Going to live a minimal lifestyle.
ОтветитьCamping World? Seriously??
ОтветитьI'm hearing this martial law scenario over, and over. What then? Civil unrest. What then? Figures, I hit retirement age, and the world will change for the worst. Scientists keep saying that earth is spinning faster, and faster. I wish it would spin fast enough to launch all of the criminals, and evil government employees, and the WEF to Mars.
ОтветитьGet educated and vote on policies that affects RVers. It is important. We just sold our house a couple of months ago and moved into our 5th wheel. Best decision we ever made.
ОтветитьTo the nurse: I get all this dreaming and life is short rhetoric. I've been researching and looking at rv's for five years now. I completely advise not to purchase an RV. Yes the costs to purchase a rig and accessories are high but its the terrible quality that turned me off. You need to understand that these people making these videos "have money". They can afford it. I'm going to travel the country as well but stay in hotels and motels; no worries, no expensive warranties, tire monitoring kits and broken refrigerators. Not to mention the six week waiting list to take your RV to get repaired. This is my opinion and I've worked very hard to save so I can enjoy retirement as well. Spend your money, don't waste it.
ОтветитьBeing new to RVing...... What is a "real RVer"? I sure love everything I'm learning from these channels
ОтветитьANY CAMPGROUND THAT HAS A KOA OR RESORT HAS GONE THROUGH THE ROOF AND SO, WE TRY NOT TO GOES TO THEM , WE DON'T HAVES ANY KIDS ANYMORE & SO WE DON'T NEEDS A KOA OR A RESORT
ОтветитьI don't stay in a lot of campgrounds but I'm going cross country now and have been astonished at the high cost of campgrounds. COE camps are $30! They were free when I started 7 years ago! And state parks are high too. And VERY crowded, even after labor day. A lot of changes in the7 years I've been on the road.
ОтветитьI own a 2011 Roadtrek Adventurous diesel camper van with solar panels and battle born batteries. I bought my van used 6 years ago before the demand/prices went up. I am a widowed, retired, full-time RVer. I love it! I had motorhome before but with my van I can drive it almost anywhere and am happy with less "stuff" as I do boondocking, saving money, and travel across the U.S.
For future RV owners/buyers: Owning a new Class B camper van will not decrease in value as a trailer, fifth wheel or motorhome would. If you can live with less "stuff" in your life, a camper van will save you a lot of money, so you can travel more.
I don’t think anyone will know until hindsight… My concern is long term increased cost of travel and build quality of RV’s. Depending on how manufacturers respond will determine how long the impact effects the industry. The rest is political.
ОтветитьAre you guys planning to start a RV park? 🤗
ОтветитьIf your 55+ our resort in the Rio Grande Valley sells rv lots for way less money than many places. We’re right next to south padre Island and Mexico. Check it out llano Grande rv resort and country club in Mercedes’ Texas. 🥰
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьWould you consider renting a space bed on your rig to someone who would like to try traveling short time trip with you. Help you financially and help me travel. I am 71.
ОтветитьLake Tahoe is my favorite place to go! My father has a home there overlooking the lake and it’s the most beautiful view!
ОтветитьMy aunt and uncle paused their retirement to go back to work . They lost a lot of $ in their retirement fund recently
ОтветитьThis was great! Loved talking with all the RVers.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьA recording tip - If I may: When 2 people are being recorded, PLEASE refrain from both talking at the same time.
There are other RV video channels I don't watch because they talk over each other.
Another tip: When you Title/Caption a video - GET TO THE POINT! I stopped watching this video a 7 1/2 minutes because you have not yet gotten to the titled point.
Thanks for sharing...
ОтветитьIf you are disabled how can you manage driving around country ?? You probably can still work don’t scam the SS system.
ОтветитьI would guess quite a few potential Rvers are putting their futures on hold for now until our government gets their act together. Inflation is the culprit along with fuel fiasco that could have been prevented. I have my campervan all ready to go but just in the waiting mode.
ОтветитьTodd from Pennsylvania, YOU NAILED IT!
ОтветитьPeople seem too complacent. We are in a recession now and will deepen 2023...Its about cost and availability of fuel.......cost of insurances and maintenance....besides cost of food & life's necessities
Just because people retire with income, they seem to be asleep at the switch..
I read by Jun or July gas is going to be $5.45 a gal
