ОтветитьScott Christensen is what we landscape painters call a "Painter's Painter". There are few who can approach his skills working today. Perhaps only Matt Smith. You'd have to go back to the likes of Edgar Payne, a favorite artist of Scott's, to find anything like his body of work. He can paint anything, anywhere, at any time and under any circumstances, like seeing grizzly bears appearing on the trail behind him!! I've only seen black bears near my painting sites while working outdoors near Lake Tahoe, LOL. ;D. And of course, he transforms his field works into beautiful large canvases in his studio, the reason many plein air painters work outdoors, in order to capture the true light and colors, that can then be later enlarged into a studio piece.
The write up on Christensen here is a little art historian-ish, i.e. "art speak gibberish", that none of us like, but that does not detract from Scott's work as a dedicated artist. He does "need to paint", it's "vital nutrition" for the mind and soul, that's all you need to know about any serious working artist, at any time in history!
Beautiful collections

ОтветитьHey everyone! Upon viewing this video about a year later, I want to apologize for the low-quality reproductions of Scott's work. There are much better ones online. Scott's work is MUCH better than what is shown in this video, especially in person! I could always make a new version of this video with high-quality images. Again, I apologize! I hope you are all doing well!
