ОтветитьGreat production.
Thanks, I really enjoyed watching this.
I thought Banksy was more of a novelty artist but I appreciate him a lot more after seeing this documentary. It's difficult to remain an outsider artist though when you are making all that money.
ОтветитьSam Hyde made him.
ОтветитьCooooool
ОтветитьI knew of Banksy before he was worldwide mainstream because of a random run in with his work on a wall in Switzerland while attending a small watchmaking school in the early 2000's. Its not a very well known fact around the world but Switzerland has more spray paint on walls all over the country that its shocking when you first see it in person. Its unexpected to say the least. You can be in the middle of the swiss Alps in literally the middle of nowhere and you will still see street art on walls. Its bananas. In the mid 2000's Graffiti in Switzerland was tolerated by the powers that be. It was considered art and that was what was unexpected. Imagine driving up this beautiful picturesque Swiss scenery and seeing a huge FUCK BUSH mural over the entrance of a Swiss underground highway tunnel probably 100ftx30ft of paint. Memorable to say the least. What I saw was some of Banksys monkeys at a train station. It was witty and was way ahead of its time in my humble opinion. I became a fan instantly. Banksy had this magic ability to bring what was considered unwanted vandalism into the realm of wanted wall art all over the world. He made people against graffiti want graffiti and that is his magic.
ОтветитьCome to Athens, I will show you more.. LOL
ОтветитьFabulous . Banksy .
Ответить31.34 think this is part of what I liked best at the time....because that wall and the politics/religious conflict in this area are so infuriating and it's all too easy to be judged as antisemitic if you argue in anyway against the annexation or situation for the Palestinians.
ОтветитьThe fact that collectors n rich buggers are buying is what really annoys me...they don't even get it. They're the problem in itself....the ones in power, elites the ones creating inequality, damaging our planet etc. That's why is become f*ed up. That/them and the system (a sick market economy). Love banksy still though and it's not his fault that idiots who only see dollar signs want to buy pieces to store away as investments...that part is the sick part.
Ответить1.52.44 the bird animatronic in its cage is explicit in expressing how I felt when I changed from archaeology to an office job, so I wouldn't have to move/have time (as a single mother) to support my daughter through a difficult time...but in retrospect it finally became bad (as I got increasingly depressed). Life. Edit: also love the animal transport truck...mixing in "cute/valuable" and food/unworthy animals. They all have emotions and awareness and the same value.
Ответить1.52.44 sick 🤯 edit...and finally how come I'm not surprised the shredded girl (still lacking the important words "fight the fighters not their wars") with balloon increased in value after? We live in a diseased system of money over all 💔😔
ОтветитьAnonymous ah hmm idaBansky Banksy WordsInLineSpaceAndTime
Ответитьif gravity is good in art point of view of general public, i don't mind, if it shows no meaning at all, that's vandalism and should be criminalize
ОтветитьGraff writers and artists who don't respect stencil art are lost, pearl-clutching purists. You can see the knowledge and practice behind the form; don't hate just because someone had foresight to plan a piece ahead of time and minimize their risk.
ОтветитьLet's not forget the boys who put their girlfriend's name on a rock up State N.Y.😎
Ответитьtypical money laundering scheme
ОтветитьThough a few may possess artistic talent the fact is... Graffiti is visual Pollution , others leaving there STUFF for those who come after to deal with, leaving what amounts to garbage. 😐 It IS vandalism. PERIOD. Self Absorbed canned crayon scribbles and nonsense. I don't want to walk into a toilet stall every time I leave my domicile. art is Self expression with basic common courtesy. Life is Art.
ОтветитьSolid production & the Soundtrack has some Sick Beats!👊🏽
ОтветитьTagging is like a dog pissing on a lamp post

ОтветитьGraffiti was never originally part of, nor intended to be a component of, Hip Hop, Rap, or Break Dancing. The association of graffiti with these cultural movements was a contrived, scripted, and commercialized effort orchestrated by Henry Chalfant. This fusion was prominently presented in his documentary "Style Wars," which aimed to package and sell the interconnectedness of these distinct elements. Chalfant's work effectively marketed graffiti as an integral part of the Hip Hop culture, even though it had developed independently and had its own unique origins and significance prior to being linked with the Hip Hop scene. In reality, most early pioneers of graffiti did not listen to Rap or Hip Hop music. Instead, their musical tastes leaned towards rock, pop, and R&B. The graffiti culture had developed independently with its own unique origins and significance, separate from the Hip Hop scene. Chalfant's work effectively marketed graffiti as an integral part of the Hip Hop culture, despite these distinct and divergent roots.
