ОтветитьAfter all the physical and mental stress of getting the flat ready you are due a treat, rest up and hope your feeling your old self soon. ❤️🇦🇺
ОтветитьGet well soon Vivi🤞
ОтветитьHope you feel better soon. The wine is for medicinal purposes too!
ОтветитьTry some thyme tea for your cold.
ОтветитьHello! Your veggies are cheaper than here in US. Sweet potatoes are about $2.50 a lb. Those apples would be $5. Have you ever taken elderberry syrup to increase immunity during this time of year? I make it out of dried elderberries. I haven't had a cold in over ten years, no flu or COVID either, no vax too. All your soups sound wonderful. I need to expand my veggie dishes, but soups are my go to. Congratulations on the house sale/purchase. I'm so glad for you & your knees. I have 4 types of arthritis & know the pain you experience. Feel better! ❤
ОтветитьHello again! Have you considered writing a cookbook? Perhaps I'm not the only one interested.
ОтветитьI agree with you - my sister use to say to me it's only a cold - a cold is no fun and you should always take care of yourself when you are not feeling well. Hope you are up and about soon but take care of yourself.
ОтветитьHiya Vivi, some self indulgent behaviour a book , blanket, soup, bubble bath ,candle and a wine spritzer will help you heal ? Much deserved. See you when you decide, take care ,Luv Southern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦🐝
ОтветитьOur produce is so much more expensive in Canada. I'm glad you're able to find good things at fair prices. Rest well and a speedy recovery.
ОтветитьHave you got a lidi plus card ,well worth having.
ОтветитьIt's always great to see what other people buy and how much it costs. At the same however, I cringe because where I live I pay 4 or 5x more for the exact same foods. It makes it nearly impossible to set funds aside for other things though I do shop around to get the best food deals and stretch the funds. Good on you for buying healthy foods. xx
ОтветитьGet well soon ,Vivi ❤ Those meals sound delicious. Risotto is such a refreshing flavour and comfort foot at the same time . I agree about the greens and tomato sauce , made for each other. Enjoy . ❤❤
ОтветитьTake care Vivi, hope you feel better soon
ОтветитьHi Vivi, Hope you are feeling a little better today. I've tried posting a comment with a link to a marmite risotto I thought you might enjoy (as you had purchased some) but I think I might have breached some guidelines as it keeps disappearing! Oh well, a quick search and I'm sure you would find it. It just looked so warming and hearty... perfect for a cold day! x
ОтветитьWow .. prices are so much more here in Australia... Take care
ОтветитьI hope you feel better soon!
ОтветитьSadly, I find Lidel fruit and veg tasteless😢
ОтветитьThat was a nice shop. You will make lots of goodies from that. Marmite is really British isn't it? I just wonder, do you use it in your soups, or on toast? 🙂
ОтветитьGood haul for that price. I feel your pain with the lurgy. I got whacked with the worst head cold I have had for decades this week. It’s lingering and now my partner Justin has it. Grim! Feel better soon ❤
ОтветитьBargain those sweet potatoes! I like them baked instead of ordinary baked spuds!! Lovely jubbly!!
ОтветитьLeedle Vivi 😂 it really is LID LE.Lizzie
ОтветитьHope you feel better soon vivi I had my flu shot today have a sore arm a bit sniffy but it will pass sending love and warm wishes
ОтветитьHope you feel better lovely x
ОтветитьI love seeing your weekly shops Vivi. As someone who is guilty of spending far too much on convenience foods, your videos give me so much motivation to shop smarter 🙂
I hope you feel better very soon x
Hope you're feeling better Vivi. You got really great deals on everything. What a nice gift for yourself. I think you have every right to celebrate. Enjoy.
ОтветитьDo you get your flue shots vive
ОтветитьOnly cooking rice freezing pasta sauce today
ОтветитьCorrect eatting with the seasons
ОтветитьOh Vivi, colds are just miserable. Hope you feel better soon xx
ОтветитьAldi were selling Cavolo Nero this morning when I went in to do my shop.
ОтветитьGrear shopping day, vivi! You have the makings there for some great meals! I know if I have potatoes, onions and carrots in my pantry, I can make something to eat! Broccoli and apples with a few raisins make a great winter salad and sweet potatoes roasting in the oven smell and taste divine! Go have a good nap. take care if yourself.
ОтветитьHi Vivi I love your videos and like to be nosey 😃. Would you mind doing some cooking with recipes I’d love to know how you make the dishes that you mentioned xxx
ОтветитьI absolutely adore sweet potatoes, if only we could grow them here ourselves! I sometimes substitute them in recipes with butternut squash x
ОтветитьGet well soon Vivi. Great shop there. I need to get some greens in.
Ответить🥰
Ответить❤❤
ОтветитьHope you are feeling better...colds can be unsettling....great buys at Lidl
ОтветитьAt your grocery store do they have an area where old and dented produce is significantly marked down? We often have it and some is not usable but sometimes it’s stuff like dented apples or a whole bag of citrus fruit with one bad in the bunch. I get a lot of apples and make apple sauce in water bath canner or you can freeze apple pieces for later baking yummy desserts or just tossing with a little brown sugar and cinnamon or in a savory dish like braised red cabbage. I found myself with two red cabbages so made a slow cooker pot of braised cabbage and added an extra apple bc I had some not as edible as cooking ones. It was super yummy and almost borderline a dessert bc it has a little sugar in it to balance the acid or vinegar. Not sure if that’s your cuppa tea but apples are good cooked with savory dishes and cheaper this time of year and sometimes free. Have you visited your apple tree that you planted in the park or was that a pear tree. I can’t remember. I have to do some apple
Sauce soon but have just been having sliced apples and a little cheddar when I need a fast lunch or tired dinner or big snack. It’s a semi healthy tv snack but more like a meal really.
Are you entirely done at the allotment now so you can’t get apples there either?
Also wanted to say I get semi elderly but still crunchy carrots sometimes at my food bank and I wash them well and keep them in a plastic produce bag from the store twisted shut in the crisper drawer and they seem to last for a long long time that way. I always keep them at the bottom of the drawer and grab out one or two for cooking recipes as needed. I used to her tons of them but not so much now so interesting to hear how you extend the produce Pennie’s since it’s one of the most expensive things. I have been cooking with sales as well and seasonal vs offers is tricky bc you can go in intending for one menu and come out with some frozen veg that are super duper cheap or some on offer item you didn’t expect. I wanted some chocolate and grabbed some choc instant pudding. It was on offer so I came out with three. I was in a hurry and realized I bought three of the kind you need to stand around and stir to make. Lol. Oops. A luxury item but like you and the occasional brew, I need my chocolate for sanity. I’ve learned some super cheap recipes for that indulgence. But the brassicas are defo the option for now and I have some cauliflower I need ideas for. I usually make aloo Gobi if I have it and potatoes which I do so maybe that will be happening. I might make it into riced cauli or just roast it with some olive oil and zaatar seasoning. I learned to make my own zaatar and it’s so much cheaper also.
Your savoy cabbage is gorgeous. I remember you making the cabbage pie with puff pastry but don’t know if the pastry is in the budget this week and if you have time to mess around that much in your kitchen or feel like it when sick. Hopefully you made some soup to help your cold. I have an ear and sinus infection I’ve had for weeks now and the only thing that will improve it is rest now. I’ve had all the medicines and even a round of antibiotics but now I’m taking some homeopathic one called Sinemet. If you have a few extra pounds you should try it. My ent doc suggested it and it’s supposed to be better than most of the more synthetic sinus treatments. It’s not cheap but if it works it’s worth it saving you time to further care for yourself in other ways like cooking and such. I would send you some but very right on $ these days too even with help from food bank and such.
Ps. Fasolada. Drool! I don’t have gigantes but may make it with some Canellini beans. Not the same! Might see if I can buy some “butter beans” as they sell bigger Lima beans in a can but prefer to use the gigantes. Adding them to my Xmas wish list lol!
I have tons of navy beans, brown lentils, dried peas and plain white rice.
Bought some fresh kal and had to laugh bc I used to not be able to give it away I had such excess. Crazy when you don’t have a garden what you value and miss.
The dry gigantes on Amazon aren’t cheap either.
I hope you feel better. Don’t forget to eat your porridge and have breakfast. I have some steel cut oats. Maybe will do an oatmeal bake? I have dried fruits here or maybe apple and pear oat bake. Wish I could drop you by some soup and some treats and a hug. Feel better and take care of yourself.
Ps. Sweet potatoes. Insane prices. I use them as one of the bases for Ellie’s food also so oh my word. Keep your eyes on sales. They are often cheaper in November here I think. Maybe. We can hope. 😅
Nurture yourself. I haven’t seen savoy cabbage for ages
ОтветитьListening to Beautiful Vivi’s Soothing Voice as I await Hurricane 🌀 Milton in Florida. Thank You For the Free Therapy!!!❤️
ОтветитьI decided to go back to organic veg now that I’m not growing my own and I’m trying to avoid pesticides etc. they cost more unhappily, but they tend to store much longer. So there’s swings and roundabouts. Years ago, Aldi (maybe Lidl as well) used to stock a fair range of organic produce. But I can only find organic cucumbers there now.
ОтветитьWhat a deal on those sweet potatoes 🍠 👍 I’d have picked a bag up at that price to make curry for the freezer. Hope you are feeling better now, (I realise this was a few weeks ago now). 😘💕
