I redesign the 2025 BMW X3

love most of your redesigns, also you made me understand why I like a design and what conflicts when i think something was off

i really think that the design will age just fine, just like the current x5 that people hated or the newest 5&7 series. BUT my problem is, it looks too crossover-ish instead of an SUV. For some reason, it just looks small, more like an X1/GLA level.

Sorry i dont like your redesign, the front is very ‘in your face’ now. I think the x3 is 95% perfect, the only thing that i think doesnt sork is the shapet triangle shape of the headlight ending at the grill, which gives it a fragile look. If this triangle stopped a little earlier and was squared of it would look a lot better

I absolutely hate all these new BMW designs… it pisses me off. I guess I won’t be getting a new one anytime soon.

Cmon, the outside looks ok it doesnt need a fix... its the inside that has the problem, cheap loooking materials, almost everything is plastic and everything is so plain that looks like a cheap chinese EV

You said it yourself, the X3 looks like a minivan and you made it look like a small SUV, which looks great.

The black plastic on the first gen looks tactic, military, land rover-ish, and I kinda like it

The color and the frontend, the new X3 definitely looks like a capybara on the road.

This new X3 is the worst update of any car in the history of cars. I do believe that it will be such a failure that it might break BMW

I feel what impacts the bulbous look more are the side panels not having any sharp/sporty lines and the weird non-circular wheel arches. I'd like to see how you would incorporate those in your redesign

What was BMW thinking?! It’s so disappointing to see a popular model get absolutely ruined.

The front is a cartoon face. It’s a joke! What is that, a mustache with aviators? Where are the clean lines? Was this rushed?

The rear is too bulky, it has no defined sections anymore. It just is. I hate seeing so many mid sized SUVs going the bulky route. They’re not cute! Give us definition. Give us a sexy rear. Stop ignoring the rear. It now looks like the Kia sportage rear or the old CRV bulky van look. Again, what were they thinking?

Totally agree the older model (2018) was much more sexy. The M trim looked like it had the latest Porsche Macan grill. They should’ve gone with that idea. So much sexier!

I thought they’d change the X3 to look more like the front of the iX or X1 but its rear is also ugly. BMW should’ve gotten input from the X1 and iX models and incorporated the most popular designs into the X3, especially if it’s their most popular. Failure on so many levels.

This redesign is a rare case where I personally think the before design looks better even though I dislike what BMW has done too.
Just the overall shape of it makes it void of any improvements.

I like your design, but it's less aggressive look. The front looks more massive and it competes with X7 😂
I like the new grille design even if it's not connecting perfectly.
In the back, I like both tail lights, but your curvature looks better.
My fav X3 is actually G01 LCI because of the tail lights. The original lights are too big, too weird.

My hot take: x3 has never been a good looking vehicle to begin with, the 2018 my being the most acceptable looking. Bmw's new models have no speck of it's original bmw identity left, so much that there really is not much any designer can do to improve the looks short of designing the entire car from scratch again.

I mean, yeah, it's.... less worse. But whatever they did to it is unsavable.

Your redesign is the better looking. But still because it's based on the BMW actual redesign, it looks too angular, too EV-ish. Not feeling it.
The shape and dimension of the overall vehicle is also awkward. They made it longer and lower. Station wagon vibes instead of the sporty SUV.

I really don’t like the new X3 design. Have a 2020 X3 M40i. Sticking with it.

in couple of hours you have created something much more superior to what bmw design department has been working for few years. congrats - you alone are better than dozen of 22 year old colleague graduates for some reason sitting on bmw's payroll

@Thesketchmonkey I would like to see a redesign of the Nissan Titan based on the first generation Titan. Nissan is planning to end production of the Titan this summer and cancel the truck. I would like to see what a new one using the original design might look like, hopefully it will get their attention and create some hope for this Nissan fan.

I really like the first gen X3. I've to admit its design is indeed a bit quirky but in a well thought of way - if that makes any sense. I prefer it over most modern car designs. It looks high quality and therefore pricey but also like it would get some work done with the plastic protection at the bottom and the wheel arches. Cool car

Edit: what I really don't like, not just with BMW but with all of the German manufacturers is the moment in design where the head lights started to touch the grill

I promise you. This guy is not smarter than those BMW designer engineers! 😆 You have to move on my friends! And that is why BMW keeps selling more and more cars every year. Besides them offering more and more features, it’s the modern clean look that’s on the 2025 that will increase sales even more! 😉
