I know how he feels...I had parents, but they never came to a single school event, sports game, or graduation clear through college. I was very surprised when my dad agreed to come to my college campus to see a painting I was getting a lot of appreciations for in the art gallery, but when he arrived he just walked up to it, shrugged, and walked away and drove home without a single word.

I have no idea whether the narration is true or just a nice story, but it means so much to a child when parent/s attend school events.

I never had either parents come to mine (both were severe addicts) and even after knowing the would never come, I would still look for them in the crowd every time. I have two children now and I would walk on fire and glass to see them. Things like this mean everything to every child. I'm so happy this child got to experience this happiness!! 😊
