1, she genuinely sounded like she didn't know how old Leah was turning, which was. Cool.
2, "you're gonna need me now more than ever because you're gonna get crazyyyy" was also. Cool. (definitely not overtly trying to force her way into her daughter's life by saying " you NEED me", and trying to force a connection between them by saying Leah is going to go crazy - like her - and they're SO MUCH alike)
3, Gary says "just like her daddy", and I think that might have been an attempt to get Amber's attention by blaiming the stuff about Leah Amber doesn't like on himself so she'd go after him rather than Leah

I remember a lot of the early teen mom episodes, amber specifically. It made me so mad that they allowed her to hit him like this cause had he hit her back they would have helped/called the police. Gary had a lot of patience and as a man I always thought he was the better if not best of all the dads on this show.

I’ve never been physically abused but it is still very hard for me to watch Amber hit Gary (his name is Gary right? I’m trying to learn teen mom lore😭) I don’t know how he didn’t get upset at all, didn’t even raise his voice, hell he didn’t even attempt to defend himself! I feel so bad for him :( or younger him, I think he is doing okay now. That’s just one of the things that sucks with men getting physically abused is if he did defend himself he probably would’ve just been abused more or worse gotten charged himself.
