The algorithm would likely be labeled a “trade secret” which is why is has to be kept private as they are often not protected by trademark or patent. It’s a similar case to other developer’s matchmaking algorithms which creates the ire of the community who want to know but can’t actually be told due to that.

Awpers tend to have higher Saves per Round though, no? Since it’s the most expensive gun. Or am I missing the obvious?

Damn iM even more impressive now. He’s 6.2% saving per round loss in 2024. Highest rated player in Rio finals. iM went from 1.18 to 1.24 with the HLTV 2.1 change. iM is HiM.

Regarding the saving percentage, it seems to me we should consider how many times it's 1vX, and that it is players with AWP. So I would expect slightly higher numbers on AWPers - considering economy and situation, yeah I know not rating 3.0, but it matters.
(Well, Jame didnt surprised me tbh) Thoughts? With the rest about the saving percentage, I agree. There is a sweetspot.

idk it rewards saves less and that's good, but i would like for things like getting 3/4 kills to be worth more for the economy damage. nothing like trying a 1v4 and getting a -.25 rating for a 3k that forces the other team to force. also Eco kills for the Eco team should be worth more ratings than a full buy killing a guy with a pistol, stat farming eco kills is lame... also some degree of getting killed doing nothing but pulli9ng a rotate is probably also fair as long as the round is won. and yeah hunting post plant when going for the kill is the right play shouldnt be KAST punishing

I mean awpers will naturally have higher save % on rounds lost. Also AWP’s are less mobile and tend to stay in one site more so if the other team takes the opposite site you rarely go for an awp retake. Comparing shiro and zywoo to donk and jL, 2 awpers and 2 rifles makes no sense lmao
