I'm sharing my honest opinion I love mustang's but they just aren't up there with the Camaro and Challenger
ОтветитьWell done man!!
ОтветитьI agree with you on ALMOST everything. It's almost as it you took the words out of my mouth. I haven't experienced the quality problems on my GT that you did with your Mustang, and I hope I never do. I think you just got a bad batch because other people I know haven't had issues. The MT82 Transmission sucks, but I modded mine to offset its weaknesses to a degree. As far as these three car types, I love all three and have driven all three (GT, Scat, SS) myself. I didn't feel cramped like some people complain about with the Camaro, but the lack of visibility was an issue until you get used to it. The Challenger was too big and awkward in areas where parking spaces were narrow, but it's old school looks and bearing are hard to beat. Overall, the Mustang fits me just right. Your assessment of the Mustang GT being "crazy fast" on the top end is accurate. People bashing Mustangs don't realize that as a drag race progresses past 70 mph, the Mustang will overtake the Scat Pack and the SS. I know from personal experience on numerous occasions. The Challenger rules in the Low-end torque department. It has no equal. But at the high end, it's the Mustang's world. The Camaro has more Low end torque than the Mustang, but can't match the Challenger, and IMO is a better track car than a Mustang, but the Mustang is still better at the high end on a straight away. Of course, a lot depends on the drivers in question, as these are just in general observations and results. Your Quarter Mile Assessment is spot on, EXCEPT the Mustang CAN POSSIBLY catch the other two depending on the drivers. The Mustang is coming to life at right about that point. After the Quarter Mile, the Mustang EASILY dispatches the Scat Pack and will pull ahead of the Camaro as well. The Camaro will also beat the Scat Pack at that time. The added weight is also working against the Scat Pack. In every race that I saw and/or was in, that's pretty much how it went down. You can't go wrong with any of these rides and your assessment was the best I've seen in ages. Thanks for doing it.
ОтветитьGreat review on all 3 ! So sweet to own all 3
ОтветитьWhere did you get those custom canvases of your cars? Is the quality good?
ОтветитьI own a Camaro 2SS 1LE and previously owned a Mustang and I concur with pretty much everything you said! Although the Challengers problem isn't necessarily too much power, it's not enough grip!
Ответить@Gonin60 Which one was best in snow? Help a guy from Wisconsin here pick his first muscle car to daily lol (My exes include M240i, 2018 STi, Golf R, Audi S4).
ОтветитьThat nose though lol
ОтветитьI own 2/3. 2015 mustang 5.0 and a 2020 widebody scat. I love the 5.0 and I love the aftermarket support but I do prefer the scat more.
ОтветитьCamaro and Mustang are not muscle cars, they are sports cars, its a different concept, its not fair to compare them with the Challenger.
ОтветитьThe problem to me is that Camaro and mustang are throwing gobs of power at their v8s in a cheaper price to get that same power from the challenger I need the 392 which is almost 15k more than a gt or lt1 to me it would be mustang or Camaro. Also another thing to consider is if you like to mod the gt has the easiest replacement engine to source as f150s have the same motor with different intakes
ОтветитьSolid comparison! I’ve driven all three and I mostly agree with your assessment. However I looked at automatics in all these cars which does change a few things. With most of these cars switching to an automatic just makes you a little faster, but the Mustang is transformed by the automatic. It still doesn’t have the insane low torque of a scat but it def pulls harder sooner (real world 0-60 is close or even favors the mustang vs a scat) Makes it quite fun to hoon around town. It’s all subjective but I liked the coyote and 6.4 best engine wise (tho the LT was great), I liked the mustang interior best (I haven’t had the quality issues you had), the Camaro handling was best, and the challenger looked the best to me followed closely by the mustang. I went mustang because to me it’s only short comings were that it was slightly less sexy to me then the challenger and when carving a canyon it’s not quite as good as the Camaro. But it looks great to me and carves canyons well and has one of my favorite engines so it was had the best package of traits. You can’t go wrong with any of them though and I love them all.
ОтветитьRank 1-3:
1:Mustang
1.5:Challenger
10:Camaro
You just can't go wrong with any of these. I think all of these cars, at their best, is like splitting hairs at some point if spec'd correctly.
ОтветитьWell done. Nuff said.😉
ОтветитьWell done.
ОтветитьThis was the most helpful review. The categories you laid out are how all vehicle comparisons should be done. You painted such a great picture of life owning these cars, what each excels at and what their limitations will be. Bravo!
Ответить$20k budget, which would you buy used. Which year would be best, used?
ОтветитьDid the Camaro 2SS and just added on the suspension, breaks and exhaust. Much better then the 2SS 1LE imo because you get the performance and comfort of the 2SS. Seats especially are way better then the recaro ones from the 1LE.
ОтветитьHave had my 2023 Camaro LT1 now for a few months. Love it. Had a Mustang in the past, left ford for quality also. I love and dislike the Camaro for all the things you mentioned, and love that car overall for what it is. I have owned Prosche in the past. An American muscle car, nauturally aspirated V8 Camaro is by far the fun factor and the best car of this type on the market today IMO. An under the radar car for sure that can shred.
ОтветитьMy 6 gen SS handles AMAZINGLY!!
Hugs turns at high speeds like nothing I’ve ever driven before!
I loved my mustang GT
ОтветитьHands down!
ОтветитьWhich one has better traction control?
Ответить392 is still the Tru root of muscle
Ответитьdodge cha ,
comfort 4 seaters.
classic design
fun more ways
grocery market
more
Get the manual Camaro... install LT headers, cold air intake and a Throttle Controller...thank me later...but if youre really crazy about carving up back roads...get the 4 banger Camaro and mod it...that baby punches way above its weight...a full on sports car.
ОтветитьI had ZL1 . Thanks for video
ОтветитьI like your evaluation. And I think you're fair. I have never owned all the three, but drove them for a week each before I settled on the Challenger T/A 392. The comfort, the raw power and the whole unapologetic oozes confidence that is unmistakable in the Challenger. Thanks
ОтветитьMustang > Slowmaro any day
ОтветитьThe Challenger looks the best on the road in my opinion.
ОтветитьMaking my decision harder just let go ‘22 GT planning by new one spring ‘24, new s650, or ‘23 s550, challenger scat pack , or Camaro
ОтветитьGot 27.7 on my widebody scat, the MDS really helps with that gas guzzler lol, they are all good cars, performance, looks, and heck the mpg isnt too bad for what they are all together.
ОтветитьJetta 98
ОтветитьExcellent video…I’m looking for a car with V8 power to replace my Civic soon and I have two kids (12 and 8)….so it basically boils down to just the Challenger because of the back seat.
ОтветитьMustang is in a different league than both of those of you want to make big power with boost. Hemi 6.4 and LT1 6.2 aren’t even in the same conversation.
ОтветитьI really wish the Mopars were lighter... Seems like I'm still gonna be waiting for my dream car, tbh. I want something that I can just as easily dance with as I can get serious with and as I can relax and road trip with. Needs to be a 3-seater (the passenger behind the driver can be a useless spot, but there should be enough head and leg room for the two right-side passengers to be full-size men and get along), RWD but controllable. LIGHTWEIGHT IS KEY because heavy cars suck and wear out faster and take more power to motivate, and TBH, I DON'T want a V8, even if they can be made relatively light, low, and compact.
Why? Because I don't like underutilization. I want a solid 400-600 whp WITH turbo noises, but I don't want to be barely boosting a huge V8 engine for no reason, nor do I want to be quite maxing out or pushing a 4-cylinder hard enough to get to those numbers... This is part of the reason why I want a lighter car; I'd be happier with 400-450whp in a 3200lb car (full fuel+200 pound driver) than I would in a 3800lb car, and if that were all the case, a 4-cylinder just might be enough... Even if it wouldn't really make the sounds I want.
I considered all three before I bought my 2022 Challenger as I like them all, but I ultimately chose the Challenger because I like the looks a bit more and I feel like I'm sitting more upright than in the Mustang or Camaro.
ОтветитьGreat video! Imo fuel economy really matters, big time!
ОтветитьThe mustang loves being at and above 70. I can vouch.
ОтветитьCan you get the 1le pack with the 10spd auto? I feel like all the 1le i found b4 i bought my mustang were all manual.
ОтветитьYou have 3 of my dream cars,
I'm a car enthusiast, and I'm slowly but surely building my dream garage. I just bought a Scat Pack, and next on my list are a Mustang and a Camaro
Mustang and Camero handle very similar. They aren’t really muscle cars, they are pony cars. They are a mix of straight line and performance, Cornering, and handling. Although I think mustang is gonna have better tech and more cargo space if that’s important to you but as far as straight up performance they are basically the same. The Challenger on the other hand is straight up muscle car. It shines in a straight line, but doesn’t handle cornering as well compared to mustang and Camero. But it is pretty outdated as far as the tech goes and interior, So if you want a more well rounded sports car that’s gonna handle real well get a mustang/Camero cause they are gonna handle about the same. If all you care about is going very fast in a straight line get a challenger. Nothing wrong with either cars, just a matter of preference. Luckily the market has calmed down and most dealers are not doing markups on the hellcats anymore cause they have too many of them now smh 😂 so if I were to get either of these probably a challenger since they won’t be making them anymore. Camero is gonna go away next year too. Mustang will be the last one. There’s rumors that the new gen that came out for 2024 will be the last. So we shall see. Awesome review btw.
ОтветитьI love your honest review,i own a 2023 camaro 1LT v6 which is already a beast now i can imagine what a v8 would be like
ОтветитьI have had all three too, 7.5 yrs in Mustang 2008, 2013 Camaro 1LT 3 yrs, 2018 Camaro RS 1 yr, 2017 Challenger SRT392 3 months. Good points, especially on Mustang quality, When I got my 2013 Camaro the quality seemed pretty much better. The 2018 Camaro, I hated the downsized, rough ride. I traded it in after 1 yr. The 2017 Challenger looks great, (My 2013 Camaro is a close 2nd in style.) I've gotten compliments from back seat passengers, room and comfy seats. All four have been automatics. Challenger is the winner in MHO.
ОтветитьSo glad this found me...still relevant & helpful. By far, the best comparison I've seen so far. The Gen 6 Camaro wasn't even on my radar. It is now! Thanks!
ОтветитьI would have gotten the Mustang over the Camaro, but that MT82 is just awful.
ОтветитьWhen it comes to winter driving - are there any of these you would recommend more than another? Asking from Ontario Canada.
ОтветитьHere is what I would add since posting:
Camaro is the smoothest and best shifting manual. Dodge is second and the Mustang with the MT82 is last.
Mustang is the best value/cheapest with the Camaro not far behind. However, when you consider everything the Camaro comes with it really is a great deal.
Most technology - I would give this to a Camaro 2ss with a Mustang closely in 2nd.
Best sound system - Camaro with those Bose. I had the B&O in my Mustang and wasn’t overly impressed. Hartman Kardon is okay.
Lastly, guys I love cars. I don’t care the make or model. This is me being fair and giving my honest assessment. I don’t have bias towards any brand. This is meant to help those looking at cars to provide a perspective from someone who has owned all 3.
