We don't pray any spirits. Even if someone does, it's masan sadhna linked with tantra. If anyone wants to know more about bastar Dussehra, see the documentary by lallantop . Unfortunately, the whole festival has never been covered fully.( bcz it takes place for approx. 2-3 months)
Chhattisgarh is a hub of tantra sadhna. Here the one who uses this power for good of the society, and helps the villagers is called a "Baiga"(which is also a tribe who are the Vaidyas of our state). The one who misuses it called a "Tonha(i)".
Every village has a deity which protects the village, helps them during problems and we take their blessings during Madwa gadai ceremony of wedding. Thakur dev is the most prominent. In my paternal village we have nau barat,thakurain dai, thakur dev, dulha dev. In my maternal village we have koshgai Dai. In my temperory address, we have van devi and budha dev. I have family deities names dulha dev, thakurain dai, bhawani mata, turki kunwar.
Famous religious places include Chandrahasni dai, danteshwari maiya, ratanpur mahamaya(this place was once a capital of this region), ghatarani, dongad gadh, kaushalya mata(Dakshin kaushal was CGs old name) , rajim, sivrinarayan, and manyyy more.
I would like to tell everyone that if you want to know what chhattisgarhiya culture is come stay here. Stay in villages, in small cities. There you would see how well we are deeply connected to nature. Nature is god for us, that's why we also have Deities like Vandevi.
My recommendation will be come during Durga pooja, cher chera, Hareli, kartik etc. You will surely be surprised. Afterall we are the land "Full of surprises"

Please do not talk about North Eastern places who don'tunderstand (many audiences). People from outside see our places as picnic hubs and destroy like they are doing with Uttarakhand and Himachal by littering plastics and vulgar behaviours with the locals. If you really want to explore North-east, leave your stereotypes behind such as Hindus are Vegetarian, Bali is prohibited, Nature is to exploit and scenic beauty is only to photograph and picnic plots with loud speakers. Please don't come with such mindsets. We are good without such people here. Thank you.
