You can't mix advertisement and content? God I wish that was a law where I live. It'd make my job easier.
ОтветитьK. Hear me out. The censor noise is more offensive to my ears than the actual word is. I do like that it's pitched down from what it usually is on American television tho.
Ответитьthe captions bleeped off[___] at the beginning
Ответить"It's a chart! It's a graghghff!"
Ответитьlong live the netherlands where not a single bleep has been given about bleeping ever
ОтветитьSwearing is 1000% funnier when it cuts to a different shot as someone is in the middle of saying one
ОтветитьOne time, I had to record an interview as one of the charachters from Twelfth Night for an English project, and I used bleeps to my advantage. One of the lines was, "Drunk, am I? That ** ** ** ** ** ***** **** * ** ***** *** *** son-of-a*** *** * has the nerve to call me drunk!?" I didn't even say any swear words, I just put in a bunch of nonsense words, and bleeped them out.
ОтветитьIf there was a subscription (ie Patreon, etc.) for Tech Dif (Citation Needed and Two of These People Are Lying)with “raw” footage (uncensored, all cameras simultaneously and bar anything which may cause legal problems), I can say there would be large number of people willing to pay for it. Also, helps pay for editing and other costs associated with the filming and production of the episodes.
ОтветитьJazz FM? More like Jizz FM
Ответитьi wanna hear Tom Scott screaming the f word at the top of his lungs
ОтветитьFeckkin heck, they included "ginger" in the swear word survey. I just hope they didn't let any participate, everyone knows they don't have souls.
😎👍🏼
"****" what is this?
ОтветитьSo these rules are based on a survey from maybe even a century ago?
ОтветитьThat's the only thing that is going to get me back into the theatre following lock down - Quinton Tarantino's TeleTubbies
ОтветитьWhy is it so hard to hear Tom in this one
ОтветитьI miss this kinda stuff,
ОтветитьSquirtle: Hi I'm Squirtle!
Bulbasaur: And I'm Bulbasaur. And this is- Wait what Squirtle?
Squirtle: It's reversal day!
Bulbasaur: No, that's a terrible idea!
Well done to anyone who got the reference
Quentin Tarantino's Teletubbies? How would that go, with him choking out Noonoo because he wanted it to look more authentic? Weirdly filming Dipsy and Lala's feet all the time?
ОтветитьLala wielding a sword.
Tinky Winky has a grenade.
Dipsy has a machete.
And Poe has an AK-47.
jazz fm? more like ji-
ОтветитьDon't bleep - just warn people, so they don't have to watch
ОтветитьWHAT TWO FART-KNOCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LAMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Jazz fm"
Missed the opportunity to say "jizz fm"
Matt's continuity announcer voice is spot on.
ОтветитьI wish you hadn't bleeped the ending
ОтветитьHere in the US, instead of considering time and audience, they just give huge fines to any broadcast station that includes any of the serious ones.
ОтветитьReally the concept of swear words is just such a weird concept declaring certain words unusable in songs TV media and basic conversations. For little to no reason. I totally get words like spastic, and the r slur for disabled people the n word for black people and slurs in general linked to systematic oppression, but random words with little to nothing inherently wrong with them being bad is such a weird concept
ОтветитьWhy oh why did I take a large swig of water right before "Quentin Tarantino's Teletubbies"? Laughed so hard I almost choked :D
ОтветитьWhat Matt's saying: OFCOM
What auto captions think Matt's saying: off [_]

ОтветитьYou'd have to say it's not reversal day, or define it in advance (tomorrow will be reversal day). Otherwise you are in the same paradox that "This statement is false." causes.
ОтветитьI’m the 1000th comment
ОтветитьThis is still one of my favorite videos of the 2
ОтветитьOne question: Can you use tell some to cook things in dutch owen or do you need to describe what it is? Because it is not an owen and the whole thing has nothing to do with dutchmen?
ОтветитьWHY DOES TOM SCOTT HATE THE WIRRAL?
ОтветитьHaving lived with tinnitus for 45+ years bleeping really gets on my nerves. More than 1 or 2 in 5 minutes is usually enough to make me not watch/listen
Ответить1000th Comment Lets go!!
ОтветитьIf it was really vital to a joke in citation needed to keep the word C**t in it or something I think you could do the censoring in a way where it's still very clear what the word is but you still don't hear the actual full word
ОтветитьThe bulletin link no longer works 😟
ОтветитьI know I'm years and years late in making this observation, but the phrase Tarantino's Teletubbies has a charming prosody to it, being four trochees each starting with T
ОтветитьWatched this trying to go to bed after doing a bunch of linguistics reading for uni, ended up reading most of a paper about people’s attitudes to swearing for 20 minutes. No regrets
Ответитьthis video is one of the reasons I've spent the last week reading through the archives of Ofcom bulletins. it's actually really interesting seeing how standards and attitudes change. it's lead me down rabbit holes such as the 2007 phone-in scandal (the call in quiz channels that Tom mentions, among many other shows), which is particularly interesting for its sheer vastness; all five of the main UK broadcasters were implicated in it in some way
