Windows are VERY important!! Fix the windows and the roof!! The rain is coming!!⛈️⛈️⛈️
Ответить😂😂😂the fact that his trumps are cramping whilst he up there working in flip flops?!😂🤔😂😂🤷♀️🤣
ОтветитьJust put your shower there. Ok of course I m kidding. ❤
ОтветитьJust remember that when you walk on roof to be careful of where you step because you might step in wrong spot, and accidentally put a hole in it,. Doing a roof is different from the rest of the restoration, you'll need to put black tar down after you repair the soaked wood to keep it waterproof, then put your white seal down after, have fun and be careful when doing it. Love you shows❤!!!!
ОтветитьAll kidding aside this is one of the most in-depth and most exterior jobs ive seen
ОтветитьSo sorry guys. I’ll tell you what, you’ve open my eye to buying an old RV. I have contemplated an old Airstream, think I’ll pass. Best of luck with what’s left. Great energy Victoria. 👍
ОтветитьWe should have a drinking game every time you say the word tape. 🥂 🍻
ОтветитьI suspect by now you have peeled that onion and had a cry. When you see the new white coating it is hiding something as it does not seal it is just to protect the black rubber from the sun. Hope the roof did not go to bad. You might already know about the RV tech in Arizona that has done many a roofs, I think it is AZExpert. There is another channel that shows roof repairs and they give a lifetime warranty as long as you bring it in for a free inspection yearly. I hope you guys stay safe and healthy.
ОтветитьSorry guys for the roof problem but on another note you do have a tilt steering wheel! Push the turn signal knob toward the dashboard. That's how Ford did it in that time.
ОтветитьThat drone would have come in handy. Sorry this happened to you both.
ОтветитьLesson learned, Always work from the top down... Start at the roof and work your way to the floor. The old RV's and trailers had a bad roof design and the materials were not great. We have come a long way with material technology and sealants. Rip off that whole roof, replace everything and put a nice rubber roof on it and seal that bad Larry up good. You will sleep better knowing you have a solid roof over your head. It must be a guy thing, every day I sit in my truck 20 min before work and contemplate my life choices and hype myself up to walk into work.
ОтветитьCraig got some new sunglasses. Looking sharp!
ОтветитьJust another minor Hiccup. Get'er done.
ОтветитьWhat was the sealant you used to seal the windows?
ОтветитьYall are amazing discovering this and handling it. My husband would be throwing a not so nice fit, yelling and screaming with some here and there not nice words.
ОтветитьOh yea it’s Christmas congratulation on your RV
ОтветитьSuch a bummer about the roof damage. A weaker team would give up but y’all have this—keep going!!!! But watching this renovation video makes me even happier I have a molded fiberglass trailer instead of one of this crap trap RVs that all eventually have roof leaks. Soldier on team Victoria and Craig!!!!
ОтветитьMaybe you'll want to sell it!
ОтветитьCaulking suggestions. No tape. Cut the tip to the size bead you need at an angle. Point of angle out, push the caulk gun, not pull, and the caulk will fill in better and leave a bead that may not need any cleanup. At first probably will need to clean. Spray the bead with window cleaner, wipe it off with finger. Will not stick to RV or trim except for where it was supposed to. To clean windows and windshields perfectly, dry rub with 4/0 (very fine) steel wool.
A little sarcasm! So, Eternabond didn’t fix the leaks that they knew were there? Eternabond is a bandaid, not a fix. Sorry about the roof!
Wow that is a bummer for the roof. The windows look great. lol. It’s going to be a new RV by the time u are done. Good luck. Jeff n Karen.
ОтветитьI hope you're able to keep your positive attitude with all this extra work. I'm sure you'll be able to overcome this problem. You're in my prayers!
ОтветитьPeel it back until you find dry and make the repair
ОтветитьRoof be junk. Roof be gone. Buyer be ware.
ОтветитьI did a whole new roof on my RV trailer and its really not bad at all. Good luck.
ОтветитьI'm glad you are still smiling through everything! You guys are doing a great job, and I'm sure it will turn out great! Oh, by the way, I just received my merch. It was so fast, even up here in Canada. Great stuff, too! It's a little way to help you guys keep going! Cheers!!!
ОтветитьQuartzsite has room for one more
ОтветитьOh no!!
ОтветитьOn the brighter side, you will likely recover your initial investment someday and provide a new owner with a wonderful camper to enjoy. In the meantime, keep up that awesome teamwork and living out those dreams!❤

ОтветитьHi guys, I worked in a factory building motorhomes, camper trailers, and mobile homes years ago. I posted some detailed info earlier, but I don't see it here, maybe because I included a link??? There is a product called "EternaBond" that is unbelievably sticky, which you can use should your roof only have isolated damage. You can definitely make a waterproof repair that will last for all of eternity (EternaBond) LOL!! It comes in 3'' wide roll to 6'' roll maybe even 24'' wide, I don't remember. Make sure you follow this advise, when you receive it from amazon or whoever, you put it right in the freezer so you can work with it more easily, it sticks instantly to anything you touch even your fingers, if the EternaBond is warm. On another subject If you have any more plastic strips to put in the metal channel there is a trick that will help you put it in lightning fast without sore thumbs. In the factory I used a piece of wood maybe 1''x1'' 5'' long , cut it on angle on end. When applying strip put the one side of plastic in groove, now use the pointy part of your stick to push the plastic in opposite side of channel now just slide the stick along, I could put 10 feet of plastic in in 3 seconds with this trick. I will not make the same mistake and add any links here. but I have some vid you would likely like to see. not sure how to include any. Merrill
ОтветитьWow so sorry roof is in bad shape and you need to take time and fix that now
ОтветитьGood video 😊 it's a shame all the trouble you're having with this rv but 33 years old you never addressed the mold in the rig it's still there unless treated but you have to keep going no matter what I don't think you can ever sale the rv without tell them the problem you had 🤔😆 safe travels

ОтветитьI recommend spray America roof coatings in sugar Land Texas if you're planning on keeping this rig we had our roof done there it has a lifetime warranty and we love it.
ОтветитьIf you push the turn signal stalk forward the steering wheel should tilt.
ОтветитьWhen i watch your videos, i think of you two constantly until the next one comes up. You do have a lot going on with that RV but i think we all have confidence in your ability to forge ahead and figure it out . I laughed so hard when Craig said he was going to contemplate his life decisions! You two certainly keep us laughing! Seriously, you are smart and i know you'll reach your goal on this!!❤
ОтветитьHey guys, sorry to see that your roof is rotted. My recommendation is to peel the material back. Take it all off. Pull up the orange junk. It’s probably rotted then lay down new half inch or 7/16 plywood put your quarter inch so it’s nice and smooth. Then lay down the new membrane and over over cock the thing and don’t look back
ОтветитьU put the trim STRIP in backwards
ОтветитьHOW did you hear about the Brinkley rally?? We are Brinkley owners and have never heard of a single event. Thanks!
ОтветитьHey guys. I heard you mention that you wish the rv had tilt steering. That year model Ford did come with tilt steering on most models. Push the turn signal lever forward towards the dash and see if the wheel tilts.
ОтветитьYou do have a tilt steering. Carefully push your turn signal lever towards the dash, and that is your tilt.
ОтветитьCraig needs a night or two to digest this new challenge but no doubt that you two will master this as well!
ОтветитьYou do have tilt steering wheel, just push the turn signal handle forward and it releases the steering wheel to go up or down.
ОтветитьI can see a new t-shirt with the quote”I’m going to sit here and contemplate my life’s decisions “. Lol! You two are the best!
ОтветитьDon't use the snatch blocks! Just a mechanic's wife over here bringing as I'm rewiring my project VW buggie. 😂 Always assume that the roof on an RV is bad, from my experience.
