I live in southern Cali where my house I bought in 2018 was $560k now it’s worth $900k 😂😂😂 ridiculous. Property taxes are $800 a month. It’s so stupid. There’s crack houses here going for $1 mil. Idk who is going to pay $10k a month for a building that’s almost condemned. Thanks to boomers, banks and real estate agents only rich ppl can afford housing here.
ОтветитьOklahoma grows Cotton and Weed?? But Weed is illegal there..
ОтветитьAs a Mississippian, I highly recommend you avoid moving anywhere in our Delta, or state capital. The Delta is dangerous with half the crimes not even being reported and Jackson will continue to struggle with their water crisis for years to come. I’ve seen houses in both areas for sale under $40,000 and there’s good reason.
ОтветитьThere are rural places with drug and crime problems and retired age people are looked on as targets to criminals everywhere.😢
ОтветитьAfter I commented on another Briggs vid that I considered a cheap house to be $100,000 down and affordable up to $250,000 or less, I was attacked with "the average home price is $416,000!!!". Um, so? In a country as large as ours, average means little. California is off the rails, and it's dragging it's neighbors with it. Way back in 1993 I was living in southern Mississippi. I met an older man who was from the San Francisco Bay area (like Richmond). He retired from CalTrans and sold his Cali house, using the money to buy an almost identical house in Mississippi. The Mississippi house had much more land and a workshop in the garage. And he had enough money left over to furnish his workshop and take several trips with his wife. Yesterday I was looking at houses in the Missouri Bootheel and adjacent Arkansas. My affordability level (see above) was not stressed. I used to say, "It costs $300,000 to buy a tool shed in California." Now I say, "If you have to ask the price of the tool shed, you can't afford it." Average is just a statistic. As Missourian Mark Twain said, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."
ОтветитьI agree with you that the US should support small towns and communities much more.
ОтветитьThe only problem living in these places is no body wants to live there…real dumps…
ОтветитьHarlin County KY is also the area where the show Justified is supposed to be about.
ОтветитьA small error: Sullivan Co. is southwestern Indiana. Coolest thing down there are the abandoned limestone quarries that are fabulous for a cool dip, or a stringer of pan fish. They all flood because they are all deeper than the water table. My favorite name down there is Gin Pit, and you can see dozens of feet deep in those crystal clear pits. In the 1950's Indiana's largest export was limestone. Washington D.C as well as many state capitol buildings are covered with it. Keep up the good work, Briggs. Stop by for a swim.

Ответитьunfortunately with videos like this...if it doesn't fall on deaf ears of course, it will cause a lot of well-off New Yorkers and Californians to move to these small towns and thus drive up the price houses and also change the spectrum of political opinions in the long term. and this does absolutely nothing good in the long term for the people who have always lived there.
ОтветитьGee, surprise surprise (not), all red states with politicians that screw over the locals. Time to quit voting republican.
ОтветитьAll of those places looks awful.
Ответитьsh**holes, lack healthcare, quality food, public services and the climate in those places is terrible. I live in a nice medium size liberal city in a liveral county on CA. I've never had it so good in my 72 years
ОтветитьCheck out Plattsburgh, NY I was surprised how cheap the homes were.
ОтветитьYou are completely wrong about the black belt, it’s a geological region. It has zero to do with race.
ОтветитьGee, I wonder why houses in these places are so cheap? It's almost like no one wants to live there.
ОтветитьHello can i have some word with this channel owner
ОтветитьNo I don't think I would live in any of these areas. Most are all redneck areas 😂
ОтветитьI can only imagine the difficulty of hiring a decent contractor in these areas for any of the fixer uppers!😢
ОтветитьWatched video
ОтветитьTry the UP of Michigan. Plenty of places under 50k much less 100k. Yeah you will have to put some work in to them. Good idea to like winter and snow.
ОтветитьWest Virginia is where you'll see 15 year old girls pushing a baby stroller with a cigarette sticking out of her mouth. Definition of a virgin is a girl that outruns her brothers.
ОтветитьAccording to the national association of realtors, Iowa has the oldest and most dilapidated housing in the nation. Also the worst water quality.
ОтветитьThe areas mentioned here are mostly heavily conservative. Anyone from a die hard liberal state planning to move to those areas, leave the liberal mentality back where you left or you will not like it. Include most of the Southern states as well. BTW, West Virginia is very conservative.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьWilcox County Georgia , Historical sites would be all the " Hanging Trees". and Linching sites. lol.
Ответитьlol makes me laugh so hard when i hear this guy talk about these states and their " Culture" lol, they don't have Cultore lol.
ОтветитьLove the videos...I live in California now (for several reasons) but where my family lives in Pennsylvania you can get homes in Mount Carmel or Shamokin for really cheap. Many less than $100k. But no jobs, dark and dreary coal country...
ОтветитьIf sullivan coumty Imdiana i wher you sediy, it is not in northwestern Indiana, it is in southwestern Indiana.
ОтветитьWho wants to live in a plains state? Yuck
ОтветитьThere are lots of small towns accross the Midwest where you can find very cheap housing, but not depressed areas, close to areas that are actually doing very well economically.
ОтветитьJust wondering what a fellow has to earn as a living to consider a 100k home cheap.
ОтветитьGlad you are honest about why most places are cheap.
ОтветитьClearlake CALIFORNIA: has many homes in the low $100,000s. It’s an hour and a half away from Sacramento and about an hour and 15 minutes from the bay area. You could do remote work and win! Or commute some days.
ОтветитьBriggs.... can I ask you why you discribe these places as in really lovely terms and then feature photos of.... not rolling hills and farm land etc... but GAS STATIONS! We all know what gas stations and auto parts stores look like so please stop.
ОтветитьIf you plan to build in Tulsa, Oklahoma, DO NOT EVER work with Daniel Ruhl aka Ruhl Construction aka Asher Homes.
Also, DO NOT EVER buy or sell a house through Chinowith & Cowen! The owner Sheryl has a questionable relationship with Daniel Ruhl and cheats her own agent's clients out of their money. They work as a team. Sheryl will even try to trick you into signing documents in order to give Daniel the upper hand in cheating you in court. They're two pihs rolling in the mud together.
Please do your homework and read all of their reviews before making one of the most important decisions of your life. He will destroy your finances & dreams.
These lying thieving thugs will rob you of your trust, money, time, and for some their marriages. Yes, what he puts families through destroys marriages.
Daniel Ruhl homes look beautiful until you step foot in one, then you quickly notice what pieces of junk they are from top to bottom...and that's pitting it mildly. Not to mention what you can't see. His homes often have plumbing & framing issues. Again, please read his reviews and look at the pictures posted for yourself.
Look up Daniel Ruhl & Ruhl Construction on Yelp, Facebook, Google and numerous platforms, and you'll see what a disgraceful lying fake Daniel is. Look up the Aspen Creek neighborhood where Daniel Ruhl robbed the homeowners of peace & comfort in their own homes, and continues to be in a major legal dispute with the community.
Call any lawyer, broker, real estate agent, property manager, contractor in Tulsa, and they will all tell you to run fast & never build or buy a house from Daniel Ruhl. Anyone who tells you any different is either lying or has never stepped foot inside one of his builds, or they regretfully own one, and are desperately trying to hock it on the market, and don't want to tank their resale value.
He's the biggest con artist & fake in Tulsa. His two top guys Gerald & John are lying crooks too. What he'll do to your dreams, finances & trust in humanity is worse than any tornado Oklahoma has ever experienced. He will turn your world upside down & shake you down for every penny you have. Heed the warning & run fast!!!
You want cheap? Try lorain ohio. Cheap houses but you may die pretty quick
ОтветитьThanks for sharing valuable information about affordable real estate options!
ОтветитьI live in Arkansas, and that BS comment was pretty damn funny! 😂
ОтветитьSuper helpful for house hunting on a budget! These cheap markets are gems. Great info, thanks for sharing! 🏠💰
ОтветитьThe three things amaze me are these facts: that home prices inflated from $2,000 to $200,000 within the span of 60 years, nobody talks about it, and a mobile home is now $100,000. This is a serious issue that will soon bute everyone in the arse. Literally.
ОтветитьA few decent $15,000 houses in Pennsylvania.
Ответитьcan we get some vids on finding remote work or careers with higher chance of remote work?
ОтветитьHey Briggs, BLACK BELT, IT'S THE F'N SOIL !! Not a race (racist!), The history of the area is cotton, where many were employed (coerced) to harvest (pick) the blossoms (cotton)... cotton requires rich moist soil... many stayed after the war (1861-1865) ... moving elsewhere is/was difficult, particularly if poor...
Briggs, you (your education) disappoint your rather great pod thing you have here...
Just to let you know, RACISM, I had a belly full of this topic... having my "early-early" years near Detroit.
So, consider improving your videos by cutting out this insidious humour.
Instead, bark about the stupidity of the LEFT-COAST... now that's more acceptable !!!
It would be great if you could include if brown people should beware you those sundown towns that still exist
ОтветитьMy grandma was born in Evarts, KY which is in Harlan Co. in 1927
ОтветитьYou are wrong about why the "Black Belt" is called that. It's because of the fertile "Black Soil" that is especially great for agriculture especially cotton, peanuts, and potatoes. Get your history correct.
ОтветитьWhat is your take on Summerton, South Carolina? its a great place to Hunt, but the town seems a little to the village side lolzzz
ОтветитьNo house in America should cost more than 50K
