Technology has come a long way, but the final images not so much.
ОтветитьI have two E models. One Planar and the other Schnider, both F2.8. You have to pay a lot of money for a Digital camera to equal the sharpness of either one.
ОтветитьThe Square format is as close as you get to the actual format which, of course, is a circle, given the shape of the lens. it encourages you to shoot and then crop portrait, landscape, square, or anything else. I have the pentaprism which I needed when I used the 4.5x5 masks, had to tip the box, no biggie. But for down and dirty shooting, stay square. 6x7 needs a lot more camera to give you a very tiny extra. I have two....Rollei's
ОтветитьTrue! I love my Rolleiflex 2.8 😻
ОтветитьFun fact: A ton of the images we have of the Cultural Revolution in China were captured by Li Zhengsheng. He used a Rolleiflex
Ответитьmany more beautiful cameras and many much better made and capable TLR cameras. This guy is so stuck on worthless and un-used cameras it is laughable and cameras that are status symbols which don't make better pictures. Oh and if you really want a 6x6 TLR cheap get a Yashicamat 124G, it is as good and so are the pictures, or spend the money and get a Mamiya C330 Pro S which has interchangeable lens, etc.
ОтветитьPlease try french HQ TLRs called ROYFLEX III and SEM FLEX oto automatique 3.5
ОтветитьMy favorite
ОтветитьNah bro the Leica M3 is by far the most beautiful "modern" camera. Most beautiful in general goes to the Leica I (specifically the B Dial version but all of them are incredible)
ОтветитьBro I just wanna say your videos are a visual or g a sm
ОтветитьI disagree this is the most beautiful camera, that honor goes to the olympus pen f first gen with its gold gothic f.
ОтветитьI have a rolleiflex 2.8f and a hasselblad 500c. both have technicslly the same lens. but if I were to choose one to travel with. I'd go with the rollei always.
ОтветитьLook man… I don’t even finished watching your video, but only for the fact that you made a squared video while talking about a rolleiflex, I know you are a genius. I cannot wait to finish this video and to be filled with wonder. 👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьFilm cameras sukcs...
ОтветитьAgain an amazing vidéo. Thanks a lot
ОтветитьThis is amazing
ОтветитьI hav ea 1956 Rolleie, with a Planer lens, and I absolutely love it!
Ответитьanyone know which rolleiflex can do double exposures ? I'm looking to buy one and I do a lot of double exposures so it's a feature that is important to me. There should be a little switch (so I've heard) on/under the crank.
ОтветитьSo extra 😂
ОтветитьI'm lucky enough to have two: one 2.8 with 80mm Schneider lens, and one Automat with 75 mm Tessar lens. Love them both.
ОтветитьIf you like composing through the ground glass of a TLR or Hasselblad, you should try a 4x5, 5x7, or 8x10!
Ответить"The most beautiful camera ever made"?
My 1954 Voigtlander Vitessa N would like a word with you.
Clark John Walker Brenda Robinson Melissa
ОтветитьGreat video , inspired me to learn more about my rollieflex and shoot with it
ОтветитьCan you tell me what films you use? I loved the vibrant tone of the colors
Ответитьwould you grab a 3.5a tessar for 400 bucks or a 3.5c planarfor 550? the tessar perfect condition and CLAd and the planar one CLAd as well. but with no working meter and some corrosion on the secondary mirror (the one used for the sports finder)? For portrait work.
great videos,
I’ve got one of that exact model
ОтветитьWhat an amazing video. Loved it. I've got the Rolleiflex 3.5F but also the Rolleicord Vb which I prefer - cleaner looks, more lightweight and a tad smaller.. Just enjoyed it again today...
ОтветитьIt is worth noting that the 6x6cm square format was never really intended by the designers to encourage photographers to compose square images.
Instead, it was felt the ample negative size would allow photographers to compose either horizontal or vertical photographs through a waist-level viewfinder, without worry about turning the camera on its side, then crop in the lab for the desired rectangular composition.
This is indeed how most photographers used the Rolleiflex, however there were some influential artists who took a liking to the square format, which violates every "rule" of traditional composition, and this expression only enhanced the reputation of the Rolleiflex.
nice music
ОтветитьMy god, the vocal fry. Make it stop.
ОтветитьRolleiflex remains king forever.
ОтветитьI had totally forgoten i had watched this vidéo and then 1y later i have my own rolleiflex
ОтветитьI really love the celebration and admiration of the tools and craftsmanship of photography. Thank you for sharing.
ОтветитьSuperb!
ОтветитьWhich model Rolleiflex is being used?
ОтветитьI prefer 6x7 format
Ответитьman, this mix of photography knowledge and mr robot vibes gets me every single time. may this channel live on for a long, long time!
ОтветитьI have a lot of cameras. But, my 3.5 planner is the one that stands out with its elegant design. A beautiful work of art.
ОтветитьIs it more beautiful than an Exakta VX IIa?
Ответитьthe samsung nx1 to me has the 3 dimensional feel through video ,it looks 3d , check it out ... if you want.
ОтветитьWonderful video!! I’m trying to decide on the 2.8 and 3.5. I’m just an amateur photographer so the 3.5 might be fine, but I understand that the 2.8 has a better, sturdier build. And I’m 73 so maybe not too many more camera purchases in the future. Any suggestions on where to purchase? Local camera shops don’t have any models currently. Plenty on eBay from Shops in Japan, but a little anxious buying an expensive camera sight unseen. Would really appreciate any thoughts. Thanks!
ОтветитьGreat video, loved it...except I could live without the very irritating interruptions by your talking "robot" - or whatever that creepy thing is - which ruins the beauty of the rest of your vidoeo.
ОтветитьThat is an making video. Thank you. I’ve just returned from shooting on one of my
Rolleiflex an hour ago and this video truly resonated with me. It’s like these cameras have soul. It’s difficult to put into words how special these cameras are and how they help you see the world whether you push the shutter or not. It’s total bliss just sharing time with a Rolleiflex.
u ever just watch a video and wonder if you're on drugs?
Ответитьi know im a bit late, but what is the music at the start with the singing woman? so nice but i cant figure it out..
