Craig Schaffer's 1980 R Model Mack Truck Tour

I'm 46 years old I learned how to drive with a 1976 Mack U model with a 300 Mack & a 5 x 4 transmission. It was fun times . Never forget it. I like the 2 stick transmissions.

2 great videos this weekend. Mack and Western Star my 2 favorite brands of trucks. I just retired after 36 years of driving, maybe I'll pick up a project truck

Lovd the old mack.
Made a couple trips to California out of Michigan with the identical truck except it had a straight 5spd transmission.
You would get into the hills and the engine would lug down to the point the dog would be jumping up and down on the hood but you just left it pull .
Great old truck.

Drove a very similar mack in Australia E6 12 speed pulled hard as it had a blue strip and an ugly low home made bunk 90km top speed

Had a 78 300 plus 13spd hell of a truck

I have a 1980 R Model.
Fire engine red. Oilfield set-up. Headache rack with a Tulsa winch. I still use it monthly.

Good looking truck! Always liked the R model looks! By the owners accent, I'm wondering if he isn't from Minn -e-so-ta?🤣 This truck would look great with a grain hopper trailer hooked to it.

To miss flat bed red . Pine City MN is next door from where I live about 60 miles or so !!

This is such a cute truck I loved hearing the horn I wish they would all do that
