Patrick, it looks like you have the bin’s moisture back under control (for now!). That was a good, moist feeding so it should keep the conditions where you want them to be. My trivia thought for the day: Why is the worm in the apple the symbol we see everywhere instead of a worm in something they eat more quickly, like a pumpkin? Lol!

So how do you harvest any of the compost from these bins?

Do you use worms only for chewing up your scraps?

Wow really it tons of worms....Very well moisture and yeah they are huge.
Good idea if we can use that food which we can't use for us.

My shallow bins dries out rather quickly too. Especially when I have jist a little bit of bedding in it. The plastic on top does work wonders.

great video, lots of big red wigglers, my 360 has a tonne of really small worms, a little nervous to do a count next weekish.

Great experiment 🧫 Learn if the worm bed dried .. and you add some food to make moisture 👍

Try adding more media into the bin. Like potting mix.Or paper shreds. This gives the worms more space to move about, acts as a medium to retain more good bacteria, and also acts as a sponge to retain heat and moisture.

What kind of coffee that you put? That's like a nescafe or brude coffee?

Glad you found away to help keep the moisture in the bin. Plastic bag or bubble wrap works well. It will interesting to see if they make it through the carrot ends by the next feeding

Optimum looking in my opinion.

To fix moisture i put a cardboard on top bin and shred some paper that i put in the other bins. The worms process that in no time.

New worm keeper here, just added a plastic bag on top of our Vermihut today. Our worms are in a sunroom with ac/heat. Noticed bedding was a little drier than normal. Looking forward to next Wednesday(feeding day) to see the moisture retention. Keep up the great videos.
