If Thanos was such a good scientist, he would know that cutting half of the population would be a bad solution, given that populations grow exponentially and would recover their size in a century or so. Also, doubling every world resources would be just as effective as halving the population. Well, at least if they are used sustainably.

Here's something that doesn't make sense. Thanos said he wanted to wipe out half the life in the universe...not half of every planet. So the Earth could have never even been involved...but I guess it really was half of every planet.
Anyways, Thanos, after replacing his brain in exchange for displaying a ballsack on his face, decides to kill half the universe instead of doubling, or tripling, or even...well, providing an infinite supply of essential resources for everyone. The only excuse for wars after that would be greed. I'm sure the gauntlet could leave a lingering effect, where anyone that attempts to start a war because they got butthurt or want more than they need will be turned into confetti. It's not an omnipotent weapon, but probably the next best thing. Guess you gotta do what you gotta do for a good movie.

Why didn’t someone just explain the concept of exponential growth to Thanos? In one generation, the population can double back to its original size. It 30 generations it can be 2 billion times larger. Thanos - What the world needed was birth control!

Thanos was right as long as there is no socialism in the universe. Wakanda also abolished poverty. So they could expand their economic model. But otherwise, Thanos is right.

I can see why Infinity War films didn't include the Death story line, and the slaughter of all his children, way too dark for a Marvel Film in the MCU, this aint BLADE hah, funny enough, Deadpool also has a fling with Death, but she ditched him cuz he could never die, and thus she and he could never TRULY be together, jeah!!!...

It is funny that one of the things Thanos is known for is his genius. His logic apparently doesn't factor into that considering all he is doing is extending the so called life of the universe. Disposing of half the life of the universe just slows down consumption not stops it. Thanos is an idiot in the MCU.

Thanos origins are thought. Everything comes from thought. I think therefore I am. I think therefore I identify as an intellectual thinking thought created this universe you stumbled upon.

How do you destroy thought? One way is through chemicals. Alcohol is a good example.
Another is through limiting knowledge and CIA, or other controllers like KGB filterering to the general population because the last thing they want is a power shift. Information is power and that's why they make you believe you have power outside of prison. But the gang leaders in our prisons are more in control than any normal citizen would fathom possible. Its unfiltered truth. The information these guys get is untouched by media, by police, by lawyers , by the in-laws.

The misinformation in regards to Thanos' early life is unacceptable.

He could have simply lowered fertility or literally put a population cap on the universe preventing people from being born till some die, among many other better options. Killing half the universe is not only is way more controversial but is literally delaying the inevitable, a thousand years and you would have the same exact problem, and they say he was smart lol his method is just idiotic.
