@RDBeatnik Ahahha. Wow. Gross. The opening beat a LITTLE BIT, but this song is about ten times better in almost every possible way.
Ответить@squingy actually this song inspired steve miller to compose the joker, and it's quite obvious they are quite similar. but i agree, this one is better.
Ответитьone of my favorite songs from childhood. i hate steve miller for ripping this song off. and, of course, then train ripped HIM off. but it was always all about allen.
Ответить@solitaryflower oh shut the hell up, Miller made something new and fun with it..
Ответить@lilblkboi You can add Louie Louie !
ОтветитьNo kidding. His song is also a lot older than "The Joker."
ОтветитьAnd Weezer ripped off both with "Beverly Hills."
Ответитьlol is write just on a upper left corner
ОтветитьThe Joker came out the year after this song, so......
Ответитьthis is one of the very first songs i ever memorized the lyrics to, i loooooved it as a little girl. i couldn't get over the audacity of calling a girl's hair a bush or saying she had 'bad' shoes, it sounded so wild and cool.
ОтветитьAs if Tossaint was the first person to use that chord progression .....
ОтветитьEssa música é linda demais!
ОтветитьAnother Day In Paradise
Ответитьman I had not heard this since it came out in the early 70's
ОтветитьDEP
i saw him last night in Lara theatre and i cant believe this
thanks maestro!

ОтветитьR.I.P.
ОтветитьR.I.P ....❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьRIP Allen- a true gent
ОтветитьThis is one of my favorite Allen Toussaint songs, along with his original recording of Blinded by Love. RIP.
ОтветитьRIP you gent.
ОтветитьPolnareff-Hey You Woman...
Ответитьbeen looking for a very long time, for this song...thnx
ОтветитьGreat tune !! Thanks, squingy .
ОтветитьToussaint WAS THE CREATOR OF MID-TEMPO FUNKY GROOVE in 1966 ("Get out my life woman"), so prevalent rhythm at the next decade. James Brown created at the same time their own signature w "chicken scratch guitar" , but the groove come from New Orleans.
Ответить"Take another little peace of my heart.. "
Ответить"Some call me the Gangster Of Love . . . " (cause I ripped off Allen Toussaint)
ОтветитьHeard this on Professor Of Rock. Great song!
ОтветитьNew Orleans is the greatest music city in the world, and Toussaint is one of the greatest songwriters from New Orleans!
ОтветитьHey you
A-hey you with the curly bush on your head, baby
You know you're lookin' good
You know you're lookin' good
You know you're lookin' good
Soul sister (sister, sister, sister, ooh)
You're lookin' good, honey
(Thank you brother, thank you baby)
Hey you
Hoo hey you, with the bad hip boots on, little girl
(You're the baddest in the world)
It sure would be nice, honey
If I could just make you my girl
And when you walk your walk
You know you let me know
That you're so very much together
(Gether, gether, gether, ooh)
And when you talk your talk to me, honey
You know you make me feel
Lighter than a feather, ooh
I've never known it
But I've always wanted the best in life
And if I had you, honey
I know that I could forget about the rest in life
(I can't conceal) No, no the way I feel (way I feel)
You're about a head turner
You're about a tonsil burner
Hey you
Hey you, with the curly bush on your head, baby
You know you're lookin' good
You know you're lookin' good
You know you're lookin' good
Soul sister (sister, sister, sister, ooh)
And hey you
Hey you, with the bad hip boots on
Little girl, little girl (you're the baddest in the world)
It sure would be nice, honey, honey
If I could just make you my girl
