This strikes a cord. Today I witnessed a man and what might have been his son, walking a lovely “white doodle” n the Kingsway. The dog was wanting to sniff and investigate and the man wrapped the lease thrice around his wrist, gave it a powerful yank, pulling the animal off its front feet and proceed to frogmarch the dog, front legs off the ground, for several paces. I jumped out of the car and demanded that he stop choking the dog, which he denied. I repeated the demand, and he sneered and walked away. I knew there was further mistreatment coming this poor animal’s way and if next I see him, I will offer to take the dog. It also made me curious about his companion, who did nothing, and i was curious, too, about how he treated humans. This must stop

Thank you for a genuine heartfelt thanks to our beautiful pets. As he said, "silly" -- it's not silly. Dogs are angels. We are not good enough for our pets. I distrust everyone who doesn't treat their beautiful animals with deep love and respect.

That wasnt that bad or mean from the emmys who cares about there playoff music. was heartfelt and funny.

That's rough. Our furry boy passed last year. When I met my wife in highschool she already had him for 6 months. He was our dog for every stage of our relationship. I even heavily relied on him for my proposal. After 11 amazing years he passed. One of my biggest regrets is that he went 5 months before my son was born. I really would've loved for them to have met.

Tremendous admiration for John Oliver. Absolutely never miss his show.

On another post I saw that John's dog was a golden retriever or a golden mix, my own golden jumped right out of the screen. I had to put her down 8 years ago due to cancer and it was the most difficult time for a long time for me and my family. My current golden Cody is 8 years old and his face is pale. I can't bare the thought. I just can't. I feel for John.

Love that they showed Jon Stewart at the end. After seeing his tribute to his dog, I have not been the same in regards to my own pup.

Yeah this year I lost my beloved Bloodhound. This year. And I fellow some celebrities who also lost their Dogs this year. This feels almost like a tribute to for all of us who lost the best friend of our life.

I loved that! after the end of his speech, I hollered over to my deaf 18 yr old dog, curled up in her bed, “Abbey! you got an Emmy!!!”😊❤❤❤

My soul dog passed at 16.5yrs in late ‘23. My husband and I toasted to her memory… i said to her spirit- a million yrs together would not have been enough. I promise to find you again.she was the very best girl. I miss the yrs we had together. She was our ring attendant at our wedding. She was a treasure. I cant wait for this yr of firsts without her to be over.
