ОтветитьYour restoration came out awesome. These are so much like the Farmall As but also a lot of differences too.
ОтветитьMy Dad took me through this whole process back in the 70's when I was like … 12 years old ?? He had found one in a farmer's field. Engine frozen solid. Before I go any further, I should mention that my father had served in WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam Conflict, with many times acting as a mechanic. Anyway, I digress. His rebuild of his Chalmers B consisted of him stripping everything down aiming towards the engine block so he could get to the cylinders. Destroyed them bitches with a drill plus the help of a 5lb. sledgehammer ( light taps ) and the twist or two of a wrench. Once that was pretty much taken care of, then it was off to the transmission. Had to rebuild that too. Cutting to the chase: Came home one day after school and my Dad yelled at me as was approaching the house " Come here, boy. I have something to show you !!! ". Why in the hell my Dad was home in the first place was my first indication that something wasn't right. He never took a day off from work. So, I follow my Dad, thinking I had done something wrong and was in trouble, and where was it that he led me to ?? The tractor. During the hours while I was at school he had thrown all the body parts back on it, new paint job, and body stickers. " Look at this ", Dad told me as he Monkey Jumped the engine. That puppy turned over first try. My Dad, Gearmonkey that he was.
