Loving these. What a find.
Ответитьthe reading of these hilarious stories is so fabulously read.Such an engaging storyteller and voice thank you
ОтветитьThis is one of the first Jeeves & Wooster stories I read!
ОтветитьJeeves and the Spirit of Yultide Vengeance
ОтветитьThe story is so very British and just hilarious. And Nick brings it to life with his amazing delivery. Jeeves deadpan voice has me rolling on the floor in laughter.
ОтветитьExcellent reading! I just love Jeeves - thank you very much for producing these!
ОтветитьI say! It's always good to hear a story about Bertie and Jeeves. They always create a good story to mention at the Drones, what?
ОтветитьThe narration is perfect for this wonderful story - thank you!
ОтветитьRecently found that amazing channel. Very talented narrator Trickynicky Marts, no idea why he has only 8.7 K subscribers. But the AI CLAUDE telling me that nowadays - " P.G. Wodehouse would not be considered a mainstream author in 2023, though he retains a devoted following to this day. Some key reasons:
"- Peak popularity in early 20th century: Wodehouse was most prolific and well-known for his humorous stories and novels in the early 1900s through the 1930s. His popularity and cultural relevance has diminished over time.
- Genre rooted in past era: Wodehouse's stories often focused on aristocratic British society during the early 1900s Edwardian era and World War I time periods. This gives his work a nostalgic, dated quality.
- Quintessentially British humor/style: His very British humor, settings, slang, and prose style have less relatability and accessibility for modern general audiences, especially outside the UK.
- Declining interest in comedy of manners genre: Wodehouse pioneered a distinct "comedy of manners" style that resonated more widely in the early 20th century than today.
So while P.G. Wodehouse is still appreciated by many as an influential early 20th century humorist, he occupies a niche, nostalgia-tinged place in the modern literary landscape versus retaining mainstream popularity in 2023. His most dedicated fans tend to be history and classic literature buffs. But his works provide a charming window for audiences then and now to enjoy his era. "
But I love P.G. Wodehouse dearly and thank you very much for your narrations!
Great fun! Thank you.
ОтветитьWonderful reading or one could say - acting. Thank you very much.

ОтветитьHilarious
I always wondered where the name Jeeves came from
Thank you
ОтветитьO, to have a Jeeves to smooth one's path through life. Thank you so much for this.😊
ОтветитьAbsolutely fabulous! ❤👏🏻
ОтветитьMore than brilliant....😂😂😂
ОтветитьThis sounds so much like Richard Briers. No?
ОтветитьI am learning so much from Jeeves’ deadpan responses. Useful at Christmas get togethers. Wot?
ОтветитьThis ain't Steinbeck not even close to Hemingway not not too far from Fitzgerald. T u r g e n e v, Pushkin, different story however, amazing amazing, amazing, craftsmanship. The man was was, had a superb command of the language
ОтветитьOh no! I've come to the end of your Jeeves and Wooster playlist! I suppose I'll try some of the others.
ОтветитьYou can't beat a bit of Jeeves & Wooster, what!
ОтветитьOne of the 3 narrators I can enjoy
ОтветитьI have been stuck at home after having several molars removed 2 days ago. Having refused any and all pain medicine, I was deep in misery & suffering. I found this Wodehouse story w/ Jeeves & Wooster &, despite being miserable, I thought, “Oh heck, maybe this story will lift my spirits.” At the beginning of the story I was telling myself, “Oh why am I wasting my time on Bertie Wooster? He’s such a fool & I can’t stand Dr. Glosup who has more neuroses than Freud!”
Then the story hit the interaction between Wooster & Dr. Glossup, & I burst out laughing in big guffaws of laughter. I’m still giggling as I write this & I’m feeling ever so much better than I did before!
Thank you for including P.G. Wodehouse in your audiobook collection!
Love these stories and this audio story is so good.g
ОтветитьBrilliantly read. Hilarious
ОтветитьQuite remarkable! Thank you Mr Nick Martin 👍🏽
Ответитьwell read nick...thanks!
ОтветитьSke Neck Tadee
ОтветитьI really enjoyed the narration and acting! The 'voice' adopted for Bertie Wooster reminds me at times of Eric Blore, a British actor from the 30's and 40's. Thank you so much for sharing these!
