Tim Cook is a Distribution guy, not a visionary and it shows.
ОтветитьWhen nokia was selling dumbphones for 1200 usd , no one cried despite dollar value bein magnitudes higher than today.
ОтветитьIf it isn’t teleporting me I have no need to buy a new phone
ОтветитьSomeone go dig up Steve Jobs
ОтветитьComparing iPhone to Android is like comparing a Bentley to Camry… Yes they are both four wheel vehicles…
ОтветитьRather than getting profits from great and innovative products, it has become more dependent on other financial ploys to keep profits. Apple has become a financial company, like GM was, like GE and Toyota
ОтветитьApple looks like the New Kodak… Zero Innovation as the only thing they want is to sell is more iPhones and AirPods all the rest has for them almost zero importance as Kodak did with films.
ОтветитьOpenAI will have to pay Apple to be in their devices like Google is paying Apple just to be the official search engine for iOS.
ОтветитьWhen I need a new phone, I get 1 to 2 generations old to save $. It’s all pretty much the same to me
ОтветитьThe only time Apple has been truly exciting has been when Steve Jobs was there and maybe a few years after his death. Other than that it’s been a rinse and repeat business for Apple. Unless you’re the 5% of hardcore fans of the company the normal user could really care less at this point unlike how it was during Steve Jobs time at the company.
ОтветитьMark my words, there will be an Apple Capital. Literally mega company with a balance sheet eventually does it.
ОтветитьSiri was created before Steve Jobs died. When execs demoed it for him in his hospital room, Jobs asked Siri, "Are you a boy or a girl" to which Siri replied, "I have not yet been assigned a sex, sir". Jobs roared with laughter, absolutely delighted by this new tech. That was in 2011. Today, 13 years later, Apple is incorporating a third party, ChatGPT, to get AI onto its phones.
To me this indicates something worse than failure to innovate: dysfunction within the company. With Siri, Apple had a considerable jump on the competition. They could have been building it out all this time, so that by today Apple would be a company totally centered on AI and well set for the future. Instead, under current leadership they've squandered more than a decade squeezing the last drop of profitability out of their existing lineup, which by now is pretty stale.
In 2007, I had an HP Personal Digital Assistant with Windows CE and dozens of different apps on it; I also had Skype (the PDA had WiFi) and I was able to make Skype calls.
When the iPhone got in sale, I considered it a PDA with a phone AND mobile Internet; the iPhone took off rapidly not because of Apple innovation (I already had a much better device) but because the 3G network expanded quickly, and because the Windows CE OS didn't support phone calls...
The US will just shut its market to everyone else. They'll cite "national security" as the justification. US consumer will just have to buy Apple.
ОтветитьApple fanboys 😂
ОтветитьSteve Job was an innovative visionary, and current ceo is an financial guy, and this conditions is same Boeing, Intel, and lot of US corps which look for short term stock gains without long term strategy and vision.
ОтветитьI haven't used an apple since 2016. Plus i upgrade my phone every 5-6 years. I honestly do not understand why someone would need a new phone every year
ОтветитьI still love my iPhone but it really does feel like they are super stagnant now. If they can nail AI - pretty much just copy the movie Her - they could keep crushing it.
ОтветитьWell I see many features from competitors as not essential. I opted for Apple because of smoothness, durability, and stability. So far I am satisfied with.
ОтветитьIf I received a penny for every prediction of Apple's demise I would be a billionaire.
Ответитьno
ОтветитьI can only laugh when seeing stuff like "dwindling lines". People shop online. Get real. Time to arrive in 2024. I ordered mine straight after launch and my ETA is between 4.11. and 18.11.
A phone that doesn't sell isn't unavailable for almost two months. It has been the same shit every year - i can order as quickly as possible after release and i usually still get to wait at LEAST a month for it. So excuse me if i don't take "dwindling lines!!!" very seriously. 😂
Buttons: that's the T sound in the middle. You sound like a total fool saying "buh-uns."
ОтветитьIt’s like a microwave oven. At a certain point there just isn’t too much to add.
I have an iPhone and iMac and I am happy with both.
But they cost too much to just buy a newer one on a regular basis
Android is far superior
ОтветитьThe iPhone is struggling with diminishing returns. You can only upgrade and update the software so much
before it stops contributing much to the whole phone. Phones are essential to modern life,
but at some point selling identical looking phones to the public is like selling honey to a bee.
I bet Apple will start Moving to a subscription base model to Unlock features , they need new ways to generate money .
I only buy new phone every 3-4 years
iPhones are often supplied for employee use. As such the purchase and management of the phones is handled by IT who also manage security. There could be substantial push back if the government fails to understand that choosing the iPhone is dependent on many technical issues some of which are proprietary.
ОтветитьThere is a lot they can do but they need to take risk. Their foundation is strong.
ОтветитьApple hasn't come up with any new or innovative products after Steve Jobs' death and the iPhone. I expected this. They'll probably go out of business or merge with someone else in time to come. Name brand on products like theirs only lasts so long.
ОтветитьApple innovation died with steve
ОтветитьI was at Nokia then, and the sad thing was that we had a Linux based all-screen smartphone that was fantastic, but management blocked us from releasing it. This was before Android even existed, and the OS was called Maemo. It was called the N900 and they thought it would cannibalize our existing sales so they held it back for years, until it was outdated.
ОтветитьSteve made Apple and drove innovation, Tim was there to make those products as cost effectively as possible. As a CEO for an innovation driven company Tim was the worst choice. Great for investors but Tim has slowly killing Apple for years. I am a huge Apple user and did not even care about last phone there has been nothing new for many years that I care about.
ОтветитьWith any technology, you will get diminished returns over time. Each iteration, on average, will be less of an innovation jump than the model before it was. It also doesn't help that a lot of people are mad at Apple for their anti-right to repair activities and other shady practices. (I will never buy an Apple product for this reason and hope they fail.)
ОтветитьTook 6 minutes to get to the "Title" topic
ОтветитьIm pretty sure stagnation/complacency has been apples ever evolving goal. They move the goal posts with every anti consumer, anti repair actions they take. Way too many to mention. The short version is: you dont ever own an apple product, and they want to prevent you from repairing and reusing your device. They will tell you this while making commercials stating how much they love “mother earth” (that Mother Earth bit really proves they think people are stupid and mostly they are correct) I am an iPhone user and dont plan on switching. I also use an Apple TV. They are still the best devices. I do have several issues philosophically
ОтветитьStill rocking my XR
Ответитьapple is each time more and more expansive and more and more caca and getting worse . a scam ....
ОтветитьHow much is decreased sales based on the economy?
Dont get me wrong, I ditched apple a few months back, just thinking.
How you considered their mac lineup and how overpriced they are?
ОтветитьIf there were no USA or India on the planet where people buy apple just for cult, Apple would have gone bankrupt within days
ОтветитьApple seems to be doing pretty well.
ОтветитьApple has never been ahead of the curve in terms of innovation. They only pick up a feature once they figure out how they want to incorporate it at their standard, and they market themselves well. Even back in Jobs' days, iPhone was not the first smartphone as mentioned, it was one of the last to pick up support of 4G and 5G connectivity, and they were one of the last to adopt larger screens, yet they remained as the market leader. If anyone thinks people flock to Apple because of innovation, you're not understanding why they are popular.
ОтветитьI don't want to use the AI functionality
ОтветитьThe Palm Pre is also worthy of consideration for innovations.
ОтветитьThe fuck with apple, it’s the most anti-consumer company ever
ОтветитьThey've made a few fun toys since then, but they haven't been anything relevant to me since 2007. That's 17 years.
Ответить
