I have dementia, I also have a life - Peter Dunlop - Alzheimer's Society TV commercial

My mother passed away last year after suffering vascular dementia for two years. Those 2 years were horrific, watching her slowly lose all recognition of her closest family. In the end, it was a blessing because we were not aware of the Alzheimer's Society, and I'm sure her everyday life could have been made easier.

I support the society 100 percent. Most grateful for all the support I've had and still receive.

A good impact in a very short space of time and conveys a lot of the isolation and confusion a family member with early stage dementia may be experiencing.

Brilliant ad. Exceptionally well thought out and delivered. Very emotive but also inspiring of hope and importance of love and connections. Well done AS.

Hope it helps ........ but it's not the true picture of dementia. .... Once it advance the person is gone the brain is a prison for both them & those around them ....... Dementia takes over & distorys ALL ........... There is NO Relief for Anybody ......... Even the Soul is Distored .......... 🐘

I think this is a very powerful advert. You see the confusion in the man's eyes as he can't remember how his is connected to everyone around him. It reminds me of my Dad who lost his life to Dementia early last year. Looking back, there were signs for a long time but we didn't recognise them until about two years before he died.

The work of this charity is invaluable. Supporting those with dementia, their loved ones and helping raise awareness. I think this advert will touch the heart of many and hopefully raise awareness in the process.

Watching this Advert was very powerful for me, it made me think of my dad who dementia for 6 year and lost battle last year. And Now I'm supporting this charity by running 10k marathon on the street of London and raising awareness.

How very realistic. Too many people, too much noise but in reality silence and isolation. Until the breakthrough, then life really does begin.
