Everyone expected this, but my biggest concern about the Nintendo Switch successor is that it's coming so late. The Switch is already less powerful than other companies' last gen consoles, and it'll probably be just a few more years until the next generation comes out. When will the next Nintendo console come out after that?

They should have removed NSO it was their attempt to piggyback ideas off of their former competitors.

Yeah, they’re gonna come out with a brand new game alongside the new switch to of course they will they always do that. I think it’ll be a Mario game me. Probably a 3-D Mario and of course they’re gonna upgrade the online with more stuff. I think that’s what they were gonna do from the beginning.

I really want them to make a new Mario tennis game I love the tennis game now it is a phenomenal game. I think people overlook that game a lot.

F`n awesome, this is one thing I`ve been curious about. The other good thing is og switch will probly still be supported for a few more years. And also with some of these later released switch games that have only got digital releases, these are more likely to see physicals now.

They don't really say how much current software will be playable on the S2, and in fact go on to say that compatibility with the current Switch will actually be announced later.

Is it a good thing tho? Bc all its telling me the switch 2 isnt gonna be that big of a leap ahead of the switch.

I’ve always said that the access to the current switch would be backward compatible with games for the current switch, I was one of the few that said that it will be backwards compatible with current switch games and everyone was like I don’t know man look what happened with the MiG Switch but I’m not surprised and we’ve heard it from Nintendo themselves not some silly.

Being able to play Switch 1 games doesn't necessarily mean software backward compatibility, although that is highly possible. It might mean Switch 2 (Super Switch) versions will be available to download.

They had to do as they have too many games at top price being released. They have a big game reveal every single month now and probably a lot of more when the new system is out. I except several AAA 3rd games available at Switch 2 launch, so they didn’t want people to hold off buying big current releases now. They would have heavily discounted in a few month if Switch 2 was not backwards compatible.

I'm hoping i can transfer various saves across similar to the Wii > WiiU. Im largely thinking of pokemon here

Edit: Still not buying it. They are being such a d*ck to emulation and the game preservation community that I'm actually not interested in supporting their future games at all. Their best games are behind them anyway and they know it.

I'm uncomfortable with the wording of their statement. I'm expecting that only digital versions of Switch games will be compatible. I really hope I'm wrong.
