I would suggest adding a project management aspect to the business degree or getting PMP certified especially if you plan on working in a corporate setting.

I have the desire to transfer to schools that have a better option for the hospitality degree, like University of Houston, but i keep going back and forth because there are good things about both degrees. Awesome video! I personally have a Business Degree and an Event Management Certificate from Mount Royal University. Both have been invaluable in my career as an Event Professional. One thing you didn't mention was affiliations with associations. Although these can be costly and are not required I personally believe they can be helpful in building relationships with other event professionals and having access to educational information in this industry. I am a member of ILEA, which has been such a huge support to it's members in these crazy COVID times!

Is a certification course completely useless? I plan on taking a wedding and event planning certificate course as well as an entrepreneurial certification course. I figured it would help me learn more about event planning before i just jump into a career i don’t know much about.
