This place is so depressing now 80% of shops vacant place used to be thriving, had a cinema and everything now its a bucket museum with leaky roof......

Grew up in Boothstown and visited Walkden ofted. It used to be bustling and full of shops. Then it got "developed" and they put the rent up and nobody could afford it. Such ashame.

i remember the original part being built in 1963 and it being covered over in the late 80's , since Tesco expanded in the 2000's the place was ruined
