Great advice. How about old school people, who expect details or are detail oriented

1. Write shorter emails. Authority does not explain. It states.
2. No more open-ended rambling. Focus on the goal.
3. Protect your time publicly.

One of the best pieces of advice I ever received on this topic was ' determine who deserves an explanation, an answer, or nothing at all. And never confuse who should be in which column.' If for no other reason than those who deserve nothing are always convinced they deserve an explanation, and no matter what explanation you give them if you give them one, it'll never be enough.

Email one is spot on! Younger execs tend to ramble on email and I just don’t even read them - too long and too much rambling
