ОтветитьHey Bladed, was wondering if there's any specific way you put the vortex generators on? I want some for my car but I'm having difficulty finding information about proper spacing, angling, etc. I want them to actually work when I'm on the highway and not just be there.

Ответитьstraw and paper towel roll idea is terrible, blow through them see which one moves the most air out your mouth. see which one makes your mouth less tired by the end of it. bigger tubes means less draw on the engine which means... AH More Power bb.
Ответитьoh and another intake mod: insulating the intake, so the cold air doesn't heat up with the piping once it gets hot. david vizard talked about that on a video where he shows decent gains insulating a stock air box with a paint called lizard skin and pieces of wood.
Ответитьanother good intake mod is a ram air intake. it works great for n/a and its not worth the cost of adding the scoops it needs but it will give you the race car aesthetic if you're into that.

ОтветитьI’m a teenager watching this video and for the exhaust, I completely agree with you man, when it comes down to purely power, even a aftermarket axle back exhaust system will make you car sound good and help the air get out, great video

ОтветитьOne caveat to the exhaust scavenging note, on any turbo car scavenging really doesn't matter, the turbo manages all of the gases exiting the engine and back pressure isn't really needed such as with naturally aspirated cars. The turbo itself provides enough resistance.

There is actually a mathematical equation to ci / hp / tq = pipe size. It’s not a good idea to just guess and fling whatever under there. That’s also a factor as to why exhaust are so expensive along with the type of material used.

ОтветитьWell now i feel smart since i knew all of that lol I'm not tho. I recently thought i had lifter tap, so i bought lifters, but since i was doing that, I also bought a custom cam, springs, rods etc and it turns out it was just my new headers...it's an exhaust leak lol 😂😢 well I ordered some high flow cats/mid pipes & will correct that first but i also spent like 4k when i could've used that for something else ....to be fair i wanted all of that stuff so it was more like an excuse to go overboard. Still stupid though

I mean like there's just to much back pressure with all that shit in the way. You're engine sucks in air like a fucking 200hp shop vacuum. The exhaust suppose to be spitting air way more than you would think

ОтветитьI put a cold air intake on my GTI mainly because the engine cover was cracked, annoying to get off, and it was part of the intake. It's factory boosted and I plan on tuning it so good to know it might actually do something later

ОтветитьWith exhausts also air has momentum that’s why over sized intakes and exhausts are bad cause on the intake side high velocity intake air piles up on the valve creating a little bit of pressure that allows the air to rush into the cylinder fast and the opposite for exhaust where when the exhaust valve closes the air is moving fast so it creates a low pressure zone behind it that then sucks out the exhaust faster the catch is you don’t want to bottle neck anything cause if it’s to small friction with the air becomes a problem to the point where the extra resistance cannot be overcome by the momentum caused pressure gains

many wrx owners swap out the top mount intercooler for a front mount as a fmic will provide better cooling as it can be larger. also with tuning there are e-tunes which are much better than an off the shelf tune that a tuner device will come with and a great alternative to a dyno for basic mods or conservative tunes
