Is this backwards compatible with last years elite 7 hdi units?

Hi, I'm interested in acquiring a Lowrance Elite 4 CHIRP fishfinder, but I want to know if it is possible to save the sonar log with GPS and Depth data in this Elite-4 CHIRP. Thank you.

Hi frequency chirp may out perform regular units but if the unit cannot run the charts to show you where you are then its useless,,, sort it out,,,,
