ОтветитьMerci à vous!
ОтветитьI’m started investing at 20 years old and now i’m 22, it’s been 2 years now since I got into ETFs and Stocks.
I have a question, should it be okay?
if I split my portfolio with 4-5 ETFs
(Foundation: VOO, Growth: QQQM with VUG and Dividend: SCHD or JEPQ)
Foundation 40%, Growth 40% and Dividend 20%
is it too much?
My goal is to DCA every month without sellout and use dividends to reinvest itself for 10-20+ years from now.
Thanks everyone ❤
Pretty good advice, thank you. I would point out one thing though: why would anyone want to use BND for bonds? Just about everyone uses TLT for this! You want negative correlation between stockd and bonds, so you can sell the bonds after they appreciate during a crash, and buy stocks at discount using that money. That was always the main reason for having a bond portion of the portfolio, why would you want to forgo that with something like BND? (granted, hasn't worked recently in 2022, but that's been an exception to the rule).
ОтветитьHello, Professor G! Question, im 32. Just started my Roth IRA in Fidelity. I only have FXAIX but was thinking to add a growth ETF like SCHG. Since im 32, would going 60/40 on FXAIX/SCHG be wise? Or do i need SCHD to balance it some? Recommendations? Thanks in advance! I want to be aggressive and reap the gains (i know there’ll be ups and downs)
Ответитьcan I have VUG and SCHG at the same time? I have both right now. But please suggest, so that I can take an action. I already have IVV instead of VOO. Not considering any dividend ETF currently.
ОтветитьI am 19, am I considered in the 20s group ? 😅
ОтветитьI'm 35 and have been poor my whole life. My children are going to be financially literate and so much better off than me thanks to these videos.
ОтветитьGreat ideas. However, International funds often grind out very dependable dividends over the long haul. And perhaps there should be room for Precious Metals and REIT's. All of these, along with cash, and with US (and Canadian) dividend funds, would help to round out the "safety" section of a portfolio at any age. And I wonder about bonds. They've sucked for ages, but lately some have shown some signs of life, such as 1-5 year TIPS.
ОтветитьThe tax on dividends has me concerned. Is it a bad idea to hold dividend ETFs in an traditional IRA? (Roth contributions are limited to Roth 401k.) Would like to restructure an existing IRA instead of starting from scratch in brokerage account.
ОтветитьYour historical data doesn’t go back far enough, as 2022 was the only big down year for VOO when bonds went down big as well (and VYM held steady). In all big stock market down years before that (2008, 2002, 2001, 2000) your assertion isn’t true. In 2008 for example, VOO was down 37%, VYM was down 32% while BND was up 5%. Similarly for 2000-2002.
ОтветитьProfessor, this is one of the best foundational, 3 fund portfolio videos! Thank you!!
ОтветитьI really don't get bonds when a high yield account can beat them. I guess if you have over 250k for the max FDIC insurance. A value dividend like SCHD is genius for a bond replacement. Thank you!
Ответитьhey all, in Europe you cant get SCHD etf. Any recomendation on an alternative for Europe? Or just 2 etfs would be ok? Thanks
ОтветитьStarted my portfolio last year with SCHD, VOO, and VUG after watching one of your videos. In terms of share price, VOO is way up (22.25%) and VUG is waaaaay up (39.62%). Thanks for the education!
ОтветитьIt took the market 20 years to recover in 1929. Your counting on a 30% reduction recovering in a couple years. Being retired with zero bonds is high risk. Your advice is good if your rich.
Ответитьgreat videos. thank you. I have been investing in SOXX. Continue to buy it or move to SMH?
ОтветитьThe red 🐓 on is the table The Rooster of Barcelos (Portuguese: Galo de Barcelos) is a common symbol of Portugal.
ОтветитьI’m 20-something and I did skip 😂
ОтветитьI think your 3 fund portfolio makes a lot of sense theoretically. Have you backtested it? If so I'd be interested to see the results.
Ответить61 single, no investing experience , very risk averse but need to do some serious catchup . I have around $500,000 in 401 k. Many life reasons for this . I’m a completely stressed out healthcare worker in a toxic environment. That 24,500 max went on too long ridiculous that the feds didn’t allow more . I was able to max out in early mid 50’s. I say all this cause I don’t have to brain power or energy to try and become a successful investor and too scared to even trust my judgement. Any advice would be hugely helpful . Thank you
ОтветитьThis dude's going to invented you money 😅😂
ОтветитьIm retired. I have only $50k cash. I need help to supp my sss. Help me please how to invest it n not lose my only poor savings 😢😢😢
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this information 🙏🏼
ОтветитьAge 63, moved 70/30 to 50/50 a week ago, global diversified across the portfolio. Making watching NVIDIA / DEEPSEEK situation evolve a week later Mitch easier viewing in an overinflated market.
Ответить33, ı have no experience Etf investing, ı'll grow up my portfolio. 40% SPMO, 5% XMMO, 5℅ XSMO, 10% VOO, 30% arbitrage, 10% money market funds.
Ответитьthe fact that he said ur 20 and we skipped😭 I only did once we got to the age section😭😂
ОтветитьProfessor G, I’m a retired 60-year-old, and I understand you’re suggesting that SCHD could act as my bond-like, safer investment, similar to how BND would function in a portfolio. Instead of VXUS for international exposure, you’re recommending something like SCHG or QQQM for growth. And, of course, I’d maintain a foundation with VOO or VTI. My question is: should I also consider setting aside a portion of my portfolio for bonds, TIPS, or CDs, given my retired status and need for stability?
ОтветитьThank you so much for this valuable information. God Bless!!!
ОтветитьI watched 3 kids in a row... From start to end... I get to this one... I skip AND HE CALLED IT... Now I feel bad and going back to watch it all
Ответитьeu new investor. age 35 amount 6000 euro for start. had vwce only. now sold and switched to 70% Vanguard S&P 500 UCITS ETF (USD) Accumulating 15% Vanguard FTSE All-World High Dividend Yield UCITS ETF Distributing and 15% Invesco EQQQ Nasdaq-100 UCITS ETF Acc. is it a good choice? thinking when add money again to make a 50 25 25.
ОтветитьVOO 50% QQQ 30% SCHD 20%
I am 35 years old. I have weekly savings plans. Is this a good decision? I would be happy to hear your feedback :)
Hi! Are you still recommend this strategy? I wasn't sure if anything has changed over the last couple of years? Thanks!
ОтветитьIm 26 with about 75% VGT and 25% VOO. I feel that high risk-high growth when young is worth it.
ОтветитьQuite pointless, seeing these etfs overlap 50% or more
ОтветитьWhat Canadian Currency ETF's would you recommend for your Dividend picks?
ОтветитьFor foundational etf, which is better between VTI and spy?
ОтветитьAnd do you consider VTI foundational and its safe? It seems volatile
ОтветитьJust 1 fund EEM (emerging market) out performs this 3 fund
ОтветитьJust starting the journey of DIY investing.. Using any combination of your (foundation), (high risk) you have a 50% overlap. How is that factored into you allocation percentages..?
ОтветитьAre you a professor with a PhD in finance? You have a very progressive and young mindset when it comes to investing. Not saying its bad ofcourse, just havent seen a professor make a 100% US portfolio
ОтветитьBonds are trash
ОтветитьI usually look up your videos for updates! Our government has no idea how people are suffering these days. I feel for people with disabilities not getting the help they deserve. Thank you advisor PAP, imagine investing $102,000 and received $755,500 within three months.
ОтветитьThank you for your videos!
What is some examples of “Foudational” ETF’s I’m 65 and retired.
Is a dividend ETF like SCHG where you would put 50% of your retirement money in at 65 (I’m retired)
ОтветитьDividend snowballs are trash. You can build more with growth etfs and with the extra millions you can switch over to more dividend etfs if you wanna live on dividends in 20+ years but either way the extra $4-5million plus in your portfolio beats any dividend stocks snowball.
ОтветитьI cringed whilst watching our supine creep of a PM basking in the congratulations of the EU contingent as they celebrated their success in reversing Brexit. Starmer is vilified throughout UK for his record of treachery.. He must be aware of the strength of feeling. But he probably does not realise that his EU pals also despise him for his weakness.
ОтветитьVTI, SCHG and SCHD is my portfolio! Let’s go!
