Abstract:
Integration of new 'smart' technologies in impact assessment methodology of global development programs has potential to (i) improve quality and cost-effectiveness of assessment and (ii) reduce time-lags in the assessment cycle. This talk outlines 2 such technologies developed and being deployed by Dr Myshkin Ingawale's research team at Biosense Technologies: a) ToucHb, a non-invasive, portable, battery operated anemia monitoring device that measures blood Hemoglobin, SpO2, pulse; and b) uChek, a smartphone based automated urine analysis tool, that can monitor and aggregate data on upto 12 urine anylates.
