Who is responsible the landlord or tenant?

That is why we are buying a house.. our ex slumlord didn't do anything and promised things that never happened. And in a lot of places you don't have renters rights people to protect you or help you when these landlords don't want to keep up with anything at all but expect to get their money every month.. us we paid our rent 2 weeks early every month then a hurricane came through and threw a branch through our daughters window. We were told maintenance would be out to fix it and never did(we said we would fix it and pay for the cost but he wouldn't allow it, he said if we did it ourselves we would be evicted) .. We taped it up and almost 2 years later nothing had been done. Honestly that isn't even one of the main issues there were so many... thankfully we were able to save up and high tail it out of there finally after being robbed of 1200$ for a month of rent we paid and ended up moving before using it. If you can you are so much better off trying to buy, then you don't have to rely on anyone but yourself. There is also a place called NACA that will help you buy a home you can afford with no closing fees or down payment.
