Deep south seceded, fort Sumter happens, Lincoln raises an army which caused the upper south to secede.....if you wanna be ultra simplistic about it.

1860 the lost revolution of states rights. 2024 may be the start of our third revolution. Hopefully a more free people emerge… sadly i fear we have lost even the understanding of what liberty is.

One thing I don't understand is the common mantra of the populous north of "the union must stand." What about the "union" was so important to the north, given their economy was more advanced than the south?
PS: Abolition has nothing to do with that.

John Brown was a great man. Of immense principle. Dedicated his life, and died, for a just cause. Human emancipation. He is one of the most consequential figures in US history leading up to the causes of the Civil War.

Yet, Hollywood has never made a proper film about John Brown’s life, and death.

I've been obsessed with the civil war every since i found a Confederate cannonball in the woods by my house in Kentucky at the age of 8. Then i discovered that the battle of Mill Springs was fought not even a mile from my house and the Confederates had camped on the very ground i lived on.

The Civil War started when the United States of America invaded the Confederate States of America. That is how it began.
The CSA was never a threat to the Union.

So basically a career politician gets elected and refuses to allow a rebellion and FORCES a "union" rather than let states be free to govern themselves , instead they had to listen to someone thousands of miles away

ahhhhh....there has never been a "civil war." The South voted in overwhelming numbers to leave and had no desire to "conquer" or rule the north. There have been 2 wars over secession though.. one in 1775 and the other in 1861.. Why is one called a revolution and the other a civil war?......because history is written by the victors...

McClellan is like Herbert Sobel in "Band of Brothers". Great at training, just not a real battlefield leader. As Lincoln said of him, "If he can’t fight himself, he excels in making others ready to fight.”

Lmfao. You did even mentioned the authoritarianism of Lincoln. All of his tyrannical "laws" and him destroying the constitution to "save the union" which was not a typical union. The Founding Fathers built the constitution not to make ALL states one country. No. Nothing like countries before them or current. It was an agreement that ALL states shall govern themselves and follow the constitution. That's it!
